Tickly cough but otherwise good, thanks.
Was it you who mentioned condensation inside the windows yesterday? I noticed it here this morning. It feels that the year is just beginning to turn, and I always get the feeling 'oh, but I've haven't finished with summer yet!'
We have more tomatoes growing but not a single one is showing signs of ripening yet. I really must feed them - not that that will instantly ripen them of course, but I've neglected them and they must be ready for some food. The leeks are growing well now, though still [STRIKE]small[/STRIKE] tiny and the greengages seem to be growing happliy. They will be ready first and then I will have to get busy.
DH has harvested another bowl of blackberries so today I need to do something with those - not just freeze them either as there are always balackberries in the freezer!
I'm not sure what the plan for today is apart from baking some muffins to keep DS2 fed.Miggy

Yes, twas me and the condensation. Still better than the ice we had last winter.
Our leeks are growing well too but are still quite small.
Can I have a virtual muffin please?0 -
Virtual muffin coming your way.
I've only grown leeks once before and then I forgot about them and they came back the next year looking equally weedy.I am hoping that by giving them enough room and patting them on the head once in a while, I will do better with this lot.
I forgot to say the two little pots of salad leaves I planted a few weeks ago are doing well though not big enough to harvest, so last night I started another pot of them. Also when I got back from hols I was delighted to see the carrot crop (:D) has sprouted. They are in a pot so if they are still tiny when it gets cold they can be brought in - and I will then be unpopular with all and sundry who will be forever tripping over carrots.Miggy

I really don't feel I've got much done today, though I did get DS2's permission to put aside all the things he's grown out of, he can claim back any that he really wants and the rest are going. This could be a big step forward as he's as bad as me for holding onto things.
However... I sorted out a drawer's worth and had problems moving the actual drawer (in a big old chest of drawers). Turns out it's bust, so DH is trying to work out how to fix it (runners are broken but these are old wooden runners and have to be glued and braced somehow).
I sorted some other laundry, took far too long on the computer, spent £9.79 on food which is more than I intended but still within budget - though there are still two days to go till we're into next week's money.
Other than that I seem to have spent an unusual amount of time on the phone sorting things for Mum. There were a few business things and also she called from her carehome - could we come and collect her?! Not unhappy, just confused as they have moved her to a different room overnight while some work is done on her usual room, and she couldn't sort out in her head that she was able to stay in the same building. I think we have that one sorted...Anyway I am off to work very shortly, back in the morning but then I hope I shall sleep.

Got absolutely no further with the piano practise...
TBH am too tired: three working nights and I have to go into work for another three hours this evening - and neighbours one side are doing sanding while two doors down the other side decided to get out the chain saw! So I had three hours' sleep.
Was supposed to visit Mum today - that's before I found they had these shifts for me, and I know I can only do so much so I rang and said I'd be in tomorrow instead.
And do you know what? (While I'm moaning...) I was supposed to be going out with friends tonight but had to call it off all because I couldn't see another way my shift this evening could be covered. Then one of my colleagues said his shift could have been extended, which was nice of him but I wish I'd known that before I emailed my friends and said no! I think there's an upside to it though in that between the chain saw and the sander I doubt I will be up to having much fun!
Soooo... having had a grumble, I need to decide what to do with today. Start some laundry, start looking at ebay to fill a couple of gaps in my wardrobe; not sure what else yet, apart from catch up on people's diaries, but until my head is clearer I don't think I'll be posting much.Miggy
