    Good idea. :)

Lark Ascending? (Um... that's all the Vaughan Williams I know. :o) I do think of it when walking in the fields near here in summer - perfect. :)

    *Mooches off to educate herself*

The only bit of Yorkshire I could see was that bit of the moors when you first get a glimpse of the sea on the way to Whitby. :)

Actually, I think I need to listen to a better recording, that one was very scratchy and distractingly full of mugshots of the muse. He does have a way of lifting one above the clouds though. Definitely.

A moderately productive day in Miggy-land, that's if you count reading the first 200 pages of Twilight.

A bag of newspapers has been recycled and a bag of miscellaneous stuff is ready to go to the charity shop. I must have done about four loads of washing because it was warm and such a good drying day. Tomorrow I'm thinking of doing some curtains. We aren't actually in a clean air area here and although I don't think it makes as much difference as it did 15 or 20 years ago, there's still some grime in the air which very gradually shows on things.

The wheelie bin cleaning has been abandoned for now as I had to put the rubbish out. :o

I've done a small amount in the garden, feed some houseplants and not spent much. All to the good. Oh, and my piano practice is done too. DH has phoned to say he has arrived safely and added thanks to ani for offering to keep an eye open for dipsticks. :) Apparently the words '1.4 litre' and '2003/4' are also important. Trust me to need a car that has specific dipstick requirements. :D Well, I don't really, but this car came available, was the right size and has diesel, which doesn't make me ill.

There are plenty of jobs left for tomorrow, and only DS2 and me in for tea. Must resist the temptation not to cook properly! And now it's time I let DS2 have the computer again and get myself some sleep.

Today is not pulling together by itself so it's about time I gave it a shake.

    So far:

Put exercise DVD on for first time in weeks. Well... put it in machine. Pressed buttons. Changed batteries. Pressed more buttons. Came to the conclusion I have forgotten how to work the darn thing and pressing buttons is a waste of time! Got changed back into jeans and rejoiced in well-exercised fingers. :D

Am under the illusion that I'm working tonight. I'm not, but that doesn't stop me behaving as if I am. Have packed a few things into my work bag and saved 'Twilight' to read when I have time at work...

DS1 is at work (he didn't get the job. :( At least he still has F/T work though). Dd is Out (where all teens go... Out. The difference is she actually associates Out with a place name, whereas the boys are resistant).

Quizzed DS1 about availability over weekend nights so DS2 isn't on his own. Turns out we have it near-enough covered. It goes like this: Saturday: DS1 and friend come round for beer and games console at 8-ish. I go out at 8.40. DS1 and friend stack up the cans and head for the club about 10. DS2 then sits up till he falls asleep over the TV. DS1 and friend get in about 4 and make toast. DS2 then presumably wakes up and goes to bed if he didn't get that far earlier. DS1's friend then takes over the sofa and DS1 gets to bed (or goes out. One never knows for sure). DS1's friend gets up after an hour or so and heads off. DD gets in from her friend's at about 7.30 if she comes in at all, and heads straight back out to get to work for 8. I arrive home at 8 and go to bed. DS2 wakes up about 12... or maybe 1. I wake up some time later by which time DS1 may or may not be back and/or out again.

Sunday: I head off to work at 8.40pm. DD asleep by 10. DS1 gets in at 10.30 and goes to bed. DS2 falls asleep on sofa, wakes up at some point and goes to bed. DD up at 6.30 to be at work for 7. DS1 up at 7.30 to be at work for 8.15. I return at 8.30 and fall asleep.

All quite straightforward and predictable once you get used to it.

I'm visiting Mum this afternoon so I guess it's time I got some housework done.

ETA: for those unfamiliar with my family, DS1 and DD are adults so I am no longer responsible. :D And yes, I was, once. DS2 is theoretically old enough to leave home, hence transitional phase of staying up half the night. Hoping this will change and he will become reasonably diurnal in a few weeks with 6th. Form looming.

Just thought I would add that in case you thought they were 5, 4 and 3y.o.respectively.

You remembered the important one - plants! ;)

Doctor thinks I'm dehydrated - plenty to drink over the weekend and see him again if that doesn't cure it. I expect it will. Thanks for remembering. :)
