That's what I call a very good question - in other words I don't exactly know.
I'm pretty sure it would work well and take a minute or less but I can't swear to that. Tell you what - I'll give it a try in the next couple of days and let you know.
Just had a thought about your garden - I wonder if the previous person put any soft fruit in? There might just be strawberries or rhubarb or blackcurrants lurking. I know there are in mine because I put them there and am 'currently' (ha ha) getting them out from under the invading ivy.
Surely its not going to take 24 mins in a microwave? You can come and clean it
No. There's definitely no soft fruit. I know how to recognise it. I used to be self sufficient in soft fruits
I have, however put my name on two different sites for an allotment. I keep doing these useless things.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I think I meant to say a minute in total in the microwave.
Two allotments - wow - bet you get them both.Miggy

I doubt it. Unfortunately i think its more a question of who you know, around here, although one of them is a proposed site in the next village, and not up and running yet, but i WAS one of the first on the list. Trouble is, allotments cost rent, don't theyDebt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Well, maybe all the better if you don't get both allotments. If you get one though I think there are threads for them on the MS green fingered board.
I'm trying a MS onion-growing trick which might or might not work. I read that if you plant the root end of an onion (having used the rest in cooking) it will grow new roots and eventually turn into a whole new onion plant for free. So far I have learnt that the root end does indeed sprout new roots and that we eat a lot of onions, but nothing's actually growing onion shoots yet.Miggy

Last night I managed anther quick dash to Mr T before work in time to get bargains. This time it all seemed to be veg and I got a carrier bag full, original price £6.90 for 76p.
Then today DH got two bags of potatoes at 15p each (originally total £2.70). I also wombled 52p - haven't managed much in that line recently. I only count the receipts I cash in or I would be better off than I am. Oh, and I found 5p on the stairs.
Total £9.11 bringing my savings total to £940.70.
No more nights to work for a while.
We have managed to stay within the food budget a bit more easily this week, even if I failed to get enough money through the new account for it to pay us the fiver.
That's about it for tonight. Happy Palm Sunday to those who celebrate it and er... happy April Fools' Day to all of us.Miggy

This is turning into one of those days when I don't get much done, which as so often means I am avoiding things. Passive aggressive.
Achieved so far:- partial clean of the bathroom - some of it is looking pretty good.
- had a small look at finances
- Small Furry creature out in her run.
- A few bits of ivy pulled out of the lawn (you may hear that many times from now on)
- dishwasher started
- bed made
Need to do:- [STRIKE]shopping for mum[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]visit to mum[/STRIKE]
- prep study for this evening
- tidy up for this evening
- [STRIKE]washing machine on[/STRIKE]
- clean fish tank
- fix broken plant pot
- sort fridge
- wash door mats
- [STRIKE]investigate an ISA[/STRIKE] (is there any point apart from that once I have one I will feel I have achieved something? It's not as if I can save masses of tax with the amount I could put in!)
ETA - 6.30pm - could just do with doing nothing now but that ain't going to happen!Miggy

Wooo... I am quite pleased with myself! I have managed to set up ISAs for both myself and Mum! Mum's may not come through in time for this tax year as it wasn't possible to do this completely online but as soon as the site updates I should be able to do something with mine!
Wishing I'd done it a few days ago as it was only when looking into doing one for me that I realised it's Mum who would benefit more from it. Never mind - can't change the past and at least I've got it sorted now.
Does this make me a grown up?
Honestly I am such a kid...I think I subconsciously thought that when I got as tall as everyone else I would be adult... gradually I realised this wasn't going to happen! So when do I get there?
Okay it would feel more 'grown up' if I could drive and it's still on this year's 'to do' list, but time and money are a bit short... at least till we know about DH's job.
Talking of that (no interview results yet), when I looked at the income this morning it came home to me that almost a third of our income is down to me, not counting any extra hours. One of the possible results of DH's job review is for him to be offered another post elsewhere and his knee-jerk reaction was that that would mean moving. However, leaving aside all the uprooting and the fact that DS1 also works locally and lives with us, as a couple (with 2 dependent kids and my Mum having no one else within reach) if we moved and I had to give up my job, could we afford it? He would be paid travel for a year, but in the longer term...?
Well, the applications took a while - at least Mum's did - so I won't be going to D's funeral.Goodbye hun... it was good to have known you.
Makes me smile to think of her, she was one of those people who made life happen, IYKWIM.
Right, back to my list...Miggy
