got some more sleep at the expense of a family row when half away/half asleep. My poor sis really needs some psychiatric help/therapy yet is too scared to get any as she works as a nurse
. It's so sad but Ma just sticks up for her
and says she doesn't need any when she is just as bad
...
Anyhow saw Dr. C and he hasn't upped the meds...So plodding on. Am fine but when I get tired I suffer. And have applied for 2 jobs today. One is a makeup/fragrance consultant and the other is an apprentice optical consultant...
Really feel ready to job hunt now......Hope I get something soon

Hi Erme, well at least you got the sleep... sorry about the row though. And well done for doing the job applications! Either of those could be interesting. Let us know how they go!
As for me, well, I opened my Facebook to some sad news. A lady I know who has had a long illness passed away. She was younger than I am, too. I hadn't seen her for some time and hadn't realised she was so ill.
Other than that I have been revelling in the hot weather. Dh and I went for a walk this evening and got pursued by an irate farmer but I stood up to him and said I was sorry we weren't on the footpath but I had thought it WAS a footpath, as we often see dog walkers there and there's a well-worn track. Then I asked him if he could show me the correct path, which he did, and I gave him a piece of metal I had found and told him I'd picked it up in the field and wondered what it was. Turns out it was part of a horse's harness used for ploughing - he gave it back to me so now I'm wondering what to do with it!
Money - I was keeping a mental tally of food shopping savings today and couldn't remember exactly what it came to when I got home but as best as I can remember I've saved £6.32.
Wages have gone in with £197.60 in extra hours so I will add the two together (£203.92) and add to my signature savings - new total £919.54. I don't somehow see myself getting another £1000 in the next month (challenge ends near end of April) but it's quite encouraging to see I've got as far as I have.Miggy

Apologies to everyone who would normally find me dropping in to their diaries but I'm so sleepy and I've three working nights coming up - I just need to prioritise sleep for now.
You haven't escaped permanently though. I shall be back.Miggy

DH went to buy diesel last night and came back saying the petrol pumps are dry - obviously even the rumour of petrol shortages is causing some degree of panic buying. DH is away for a couple of days though and needed to fill up - just as well there's still diesel available locally.
The other bit of national news to have an effect - and I found it straight after applying the hose to all the plant pots for the first time this year - is that drought has officially come to North Yorkshire. I think we knew it was on its way when the SE was declared a drought area, and that day I noticed the grass verges round here were beginning to go slightly brown. We then had a day of frequent showers which pushed the tide back for a couple of weeks but since then I think we've only had rain on one day, and that was tiny showers, hardly wetting the ground, never mind soaking in.
I haven't been able to find a drought map this morning but I don't think we're actually in the drought area. I've been trying to cut back on water use and recycle it from time to time - I wonder how long I've staved it off for?
Anyway as I was watering the plants and noticing that there are huge quantities of weeds, and I'm not sure what of the things I actually planted has survived the winter, I decided I ought to sort through them and try to have fewer and tidier plant pots.
So that's me occupied for the next six months.Miggy

Well it's all happening in North Yorkshire!
I still have everything crossed for interview news.
I'm so sorry to hear about your sad news. Isn't it a shock logging on to a site to find news like that? Sometimes I think that a bolt out of the blue like that hits a bit harder? I hope you're ok and not feeling too reflective.
Anyway, don't you worry about other diaries. They will still be there when you feel up to fighting fit again. You just make sure you take good care of yourself and I'll keep popping in for a virtual cuppa and an update.0 -
Thanks guys. I didn't get the B**** job...never mind. Don't quite know how I managed to fail the literacy and numeracy assessment but still...Move on...
I have a job interview in a wee while. Just round the corner doing admin. Pray I get it. Just 20 hours a week 9.15-1.15 mon - fri......

Sorry about that first job app Erme - hope things go better for the second. Any news yet?
I was up before dawn toobut I was getting paid for it. :rotfl:And I realised I needed cod liver oil too - I go into a downer without it. I thought it was because of the news of my friend's death but while that's obviously a factor I found I was getting angry and feeling there was something I wasn't looking forward to, though I couldn't think what. So I'm back on the cod liver oil and vitamin C.
Dropped into Mr T on the way to work last night just in time for the amazing bargains - bread 10p, 2 bags of parsnips 26p, fruit salad 25p. Originally £1, £2.40 and £1.25 respectively so I saved £4.04.
Today I got daffodils galore for 22p, chicken for £3.29, mince for 39p :T and stewing steak for £1.12 :T. Originally £2, £5, £1.56 and £4.47, so I saved £8.01.
I have to do a shuffle of freezer and fridge stuff now of course, but the chicken will go in the slow cooker while I'm asleep tomorrow thus saving time and hassle.
Just a wispy bit of cloud today - I had almost forgotten what it looks like. We've had cloudless blue sky and heat for so long.
I see from the forecast that it's going down to about 10C at the weekend - better get out the woolies again!
This is what I made for tea tonight - cheap and cheerful and a childhood favourite which I've probably not had in 30 years (ulp!)
Poor Knight's Supper Dish
Several slices bread broken up - about 2 per person
eggs - I did one per person
Milk to mix - enough to soak the bread, I'm guessing about 1/4 pt per person but depends on the bread
salt, paper and nutmeg
Cheese to taste, cubed or grated
Grease a pyrex dish. Break up the bread and put in dish. Mix the eggs and milk and stir in, season to taste and add cheese, mixing well. Ensure the bread is soaked through. Sprinkle with cheese - and you could top with chopped chives or whatever you like.
Bake at 180C for about 25 minutes until well risen and brown. Serve immediately.
It's basically a cheese souffle. My Mum said the knight couldn't afford meat so he had cheese. I think if he could afford cheese he wasn't too badly off.Miggy

Can you make this in a microwave? If so, how long? There was talk of getting me an oven from one of these charity places, but no suprise, i've not heard anything since, and don't know who to contact.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

That's what I call a very good question - in other words I don't exactly know.
I'm pretty sure it would work well and take a minute or less but I can't swear to that. Tell you what - I'll give it a try in the next couple of days and let you know.
Just had a thought about your garden - I wonder if the previous person put any soft fruit in? There might just be strawberries or rhubarb or blackcurrants lurking. I know there are in mine because I put them there and am 'currently' (ha ha) getting them out from under the invading ivy.Miggy

I think I've finally got my card reader started (it had got lost in Mum's stuff) but no time to see if I can use it.
Oh well. This means I can't pay enough through the new account this month to get the freebie £5, will have to learn form my experiences and do better next time.Miggy
