I know a lot of things happen that don't fit into what we understand. It's how we interpret them that varies.
Well, today has been gloriously sunny and much warmer than you'd expect for late March, once the fog began to lift. It's back now with a vengeance but in between times we went to the car boot sale with our friends (and met some other friends there). Generally a MS activity because we don't have to spend but I admit to some plants and a lamp... We had lunch out (reasonably priced and very tasty but not truly MS) then spent the afternoon at a National Trust place (2 entrance fees). Afterwards there was another food shop to do - DH told me what he reckons the weekend's cost so far and while I know it's less than some people would spend on an evening out, I'm still thinking 'ooo-er'! What's really good though is that it's taking our minds off the interview on Monday!
Now back to the task in hand, which is packing the food away in such a way that we can find it when needed tomorrow.I think we may be living on leftovers for a week but we could have nine to feed tomorrow. That's five for breakfast, five for lunch and nine for dinner... nineteen meals... I am the old woman who lived in a shoe...

Our weekend guests are now headed home after what has been a super weekend - can you believe we were sitting out having coffee yesterday having been wandering round a pretty seaside area admiring clear blue sky and calm blue sea complete with little white sails and the obligatory seagulls, also dazzling white? The weather has been really glorious and it's all been relaxing, which is what we needed.
DH has gone into work looking very smart because it's his job interview this morning - ulp.I'm going to start the laundry battle again, visit Mum and make a pie from the remains of yesterday's chicken. Yes, we fed nine and still managed some leftovers. We got delayed on the way back from our day out so the kids prepared the veg and left us a bag of bits which I shall make into soup.
Won't tell them it's leftovers, ha ha!
I'm so pleased I managed to avoid nearly all the 'treats' which usually mean I put weight on when we have guests, and instead my weight's down 1.5lbs. That's a Good Thing.
I won't stop now to read everyone's diaries or I won't get anything else done but I will try to catch up later.
ETA: we have over-full freezers again and who knows quite what's in there? I wish it was stuff that would just go together and make a meal! Or a week's meals. As it is I'm going to have to be creative.

Well done on the weight loss Miggy.
How did the interview go today? I've been thinking of you and sending happy lucky thoughts across to your family. I really hope this comes off for you.0 -
Well done Rose - shame about the perils of eating out: it's one of my main downfalls too.
DH wasn't happy with his interview but if he wasn't, the same is likely to be true of others. We won't know for a couple of weeks.
Thanks for all the good thoughts! It's lovely to have support and I know others are in a far worse position than we are.
Oh, and DH has his bike sorted - I forget how much of the saga I've put on here but basically he had two bikes cheaply and has used one for spares onto the better frame. It still cost more than he's ever paid for a bike before but it means a lot in terms of freedom, exercise, cutting diesel costs and so on.Miggy
