YoY is up by 6.3%. This is 3 month average on 3 month average and the best measure of house prices changes albeit (and also because) it changes very slowly.

A little up, a little down... overall flat. I think that's what most people expect to see. No rise on paper but a fall in real terms as private sector wages start increasing following two years of freezes.

We knew this fall was coming people.... even the bulls lol. Its not when it will fall but by how much. I guess 20%... why i negotiated a nice discount and good interest rate on my current properdee :) (well not mine yet still purchasing it).

Renegotiate quick - 20% may not be enough.

RPI inflation is 2.6% since the start of the year so 2% down since january in nominal terms is a significant drop. Will be interesting to see if a clear trend of drops emerges, can't see any other outcome given the cutbacks and gradual realisation that we haven't even really started to pay for the decade of spending recklessness yet.

that's an important point - you can't tell until after the event if there is a clear trend though.

All the indices have shown falls over the last few months with the exception of Nationwide. However Nationwide gains in the figures have fallen to near 0 and expected to go negative next month.

Don't you need wage inflation to get a "real term" fall. If you have had wage inflation to match inflation the fall is no different anyway.
