Gym Locker Broken Into - Esporta Croydon

Thank you - but where are you supposed to put your phone, wallet, glasses if not in the gym locker?0
-
Unfortunately, I can't answer that. The gym I used to use was less than 50m from my house, so I just used my house as a locker.
The solution at a school I worked at was to change the layout so the lockers weren't in hidden away places where you'd get time to get in. Things have changed in recent years though, as people didn't use to carry several hundred pounds worth of electronics around with them.0 -
Thanks - the locker was at the entrance in a public place and it happened at between 7.30-8.30pm, a relatively busy time.0

1)Write a letter to the most senior officer at the police station, setting out all the facts, & stating that you want the crime to be properly investigated. copy in your local councillor/s, & make it clear that you have done so.
2)Write to Esporta & Wetherspoons & state that you expect them to have retained anything that could be evidence from the 2 dates youve given (Wetherspoons - cctv & signed receipt/s) (Esporta - cctv, entry/exit logs, staff rota's etc) Could send copies of these letters with letter 1
In terms of contracts, you should be able to get out of these using the crime number, & that youve had the sim & imei blocked.0 -

Now if nothing of the sort was displayed, and given that this looks rather like an inside job (we probably all agree with maninthestreet here), it might just be worth getting some legal advice before losing the no-claims bonus on your insurance.
How you reach the conclusion that it is likely to be an inside job I don't know. The master keys are kept securely in the club that I belong to and only released to senior staff if needed. As has been said elsewhere it is not hard for someone intent on getting into lockers to obtain a suitable key to do so.0 -
This happened to my DH at Fitness 1st in Leicester. They ever took his undies. I had to catch he bus to take him some clothes as they also took the car key which as we had only just got didnt have spare for. A very costly experience indeed
But on the plus side Fitness 1st allowed his to cancel his membershipMad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!
Aiming to loose 56 pounds this year. Total to date 44.5 pounds 12.5 to go. Slimming World Rocks!0 -
Was your £500+ phone not insured for theft under the phone company?
(Not that it makes it any better but at least you would be able to get it replaced if it was insured.)0 -
No it wasn't insured, at £15 a month (£180 a year) for o2 iPhone insurance it didn't seem worth it, you learn the hard way!0
-
I would suggest that whoever broke into your locker must of known what was inside as I can't imagine they would have time to keep opening lockers until they found stuff worth stealing. Did you notice anyone looking at you when you was getting changed?0
-
I didn't notice anyone, but I agree it is likely!0
