That's a brilliant thread, thanks aureol, wow whoda thought some of the things that sell on ebay? Have just rescued my old (pristine) Next catalogues from the recycle bin, grandson's unused nicotine patches, O magazines (Oprah) destined for recycling and old unused vidcam tapes. Great ideas :rotfl:

Hey all, I think I've been having a stupid coupla weeks, just realised you can buy jiffy bags on ebay for way less than the Post Office if you're happy to buy in bulk.
For example post office charge 55p for an E2 envelope, just bought 25 from ebay with free postage for £6.79 which I work out means 27p each so a 50% saving plus they get delivered to my door. They also do plastic mailing bags for clothes etc and if you go through cashback site you can get it even cheaper because of the money you get back!
Just off to do some surveys and clicks and then I shall be back. I have good news though, interview for some subcontract accountancy work, 25 hours a week on average and I can choose my own hours and fees (within reason)really hope I get it so wish me luck

Oh well done on getting with a transcription agency, which one is it? I've had lots of transcription work this week so got £75 this week to add to the funds
Really happy with that! I've just got to go through and proof read them all now and ensure they're okay before I return them tomorrow.
My ebay auctions end today...
I have a message from someone who says they haven't recieved tehir goods which I sent 3 weeks ago. I'm really unsure of where the reciept is too to prove proof of postage but i'll have to look through and try to find it then take it up with Royal Mail I guess... how annoying =(0 -
Lorrie - Alphabet. Quite rigorous testing though!!
Yes, that's annoying when someone says they haven't received the goods, especially if they were not signed for. You wonder if they're pulling a fast one, as they are entitled to get their money back! If you can find your receipt at least you'll be able to get compensation from the Post Office - I throw all mine into a box, there's years of receipts in there!
Phew, just put 20 items on ebay - took me hours and hours! Really must download turbolister, I hear it's much quicker. Anyone else use it?
After reading another thread, for a laugh I have listed fruity teabags sent to me as samples, my grandson's unused nicotine patches from when he gave up smoking, and said goodbye at last to my broken laptop which I will never get round to repairing! :rotfl:
I had built up quite a nice Paypal sum when they walloped me for ebay fees  They seem to take them off at random times of the month!
Also, wondered why ebay had free listing for today and Monday, then realised next Monday is a bank holiday, so people will be parked infront of their computers, bored, looking to spend their money :T and with a 7-day listing we'll catch them at the right time.0 -
Hi Fi, I was trying to check out the e-bay free listing for Sunday / Monday but can not see any thing about it on the e-bay site? I don't want to miss out...
On the moneysaving side- I done an other carboot sale on Saturday and cleared £65- very pleased with it!!!
I have one more to do next Saturday- if the weather permits- and after that I will only do the very odd one on Sundays.
I have receievd my cheque from Musicmagpie this morning- it took 4 weeks from sending the CDs, but I was aware that it will take this long and at least I got rid of some unwanted CDs.
I'm also looking forward to find out how much my 'antics' will make onthe auction this Thursday- fingers crossed taht I will not loose toomuch money- I bought them 3 years ago from e-bay after I 'decided' that I will collect antics from now on- bad idea... Basicaly they were siting in boxes for the last 3 years in my garage.
Oh, I almost forget, I managed to get £35 cashback on a new pet insurance- (I cancelled the old one after 10 months) and it is also cheaper than the original was... I probably will not see this cashback for 3-6 month but at least it will come after Christmas when I'm the most skint!
My new total- £621 to-date........ £479 to go !!! I passed the halfway mark!!!!!!"NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS FREE FOOD"
'They can have my money but not my life!' Debt & mortgage free in 18 years *0 -

I only received the email from ebay on Friday, bit short notice ...
On 22 and 23 August 2010!*
£0.00 insertion fee on Auction format listings with any starting price.
Open to all users (except business sellers).
All Final Value Fees and optional listing upgrade fees still apply.
Regards,
The eBay team
Well done on passing the half-way mark. Didn't it seem daunting when you first started out? I have to calculate mine, especially after paypal took their fees!0 -
I don't think I've applied to Alphabet but once i finish my 'proper' job I will be applying so I can work from home around childcare even more! I've had quite a lot of transcribing and been sent another one today too so i'm really happy!
I don't understand all the ebay fees and paypal fees... that's annoying how they take it off at random times... i think that's why i prefer amazon as it seems a lot more structured and you know where you stand even if they do take a big chunk!
I sold one of Hope's old jumpers for £5 on ebay yesterday! it only cost £8 new and so once they've paid postage and packaging they've virtually paid what i did full price! Some people hey?! But that's more for my pocket!
Well done coco it soudns like you're doing really well!! Over half way!0 -
