  • Oh don't get me wrong, once I've sold everything I know I won't be able to earn that every month but as a short term solution it's quite good.

Might look into buying some more books, job lots or carboot lots from ebay and seeing what they make on amazon.

Also thought I might get some of the broken phones for 99p on ebay and see how much the buy your phone companies offer......

  • Blimey, I might have a look through my old tat then! Do they take stuff with 'bits' in? Not sure if it's glass or valuable stones but worth a try. Now if someone would just do that for silver.......?

They buy it all - with stones and silver too, last time I sold all my broken + tangles silver and made £39 on something that I was ready to through out!!! They pay 28 pence / gramm for silver that is very good...

Make sure you use 'garden hatton metals'- check out the massive tread about them on the 'Up your income' forum- everybody is fully satisfied with them!

Well done Lalli it sounds like you're doing well and it so helps to write it down so you can see it in front of you in black and white it really helps with the motivation!

Dooyoo stil haven't got in touch with me =( Really worried and concerned that that's all that effort and over £90 lost.

I've listed a few more things on amazon today, I've raided my brother's old history text books and a lot of them are on for around £6 each so hopefully they'll sell once the new academic year starts :)

With people under cutting me i Just leave it and don't lower my prices as i think well if they sell theirs then mine will be the next one along... plus I usualy have my items as 'very good' and often the ones that undercut me are 'acceptable' etc so i hope people will chose mine above theirs!

I think I chucked out all my old necklaces... boo :( Should've looked! Most of mine may have just been 'fake' silver so it may not have worked!

Lorrie, what a mess with dooyoo! I really hope that you get your money back soon.
Also, if they thought that something was amiss why didn't they acted sooner, why wait until you have £90 in your accounts? Also, as you said they can not expect every single person to have a separate computer to theit names?!? AS long as you can prove your ID, I don't understand what's their problem is? Unless they want to keep the money.... but surley they can not do that!

  • Hi all, just wanted to let you know something about Amazon, now I really should have thought of this sooner and it may be that you all know anyway and I'll look stupid but here goes....

When you go to the 'view my inventory page', you can set it to show if you are selling for the lowest cost, so all along I've been checking and lowering my prices as necessary.

What it doesn't show you is the next highest cost. I've just had a look again at my prices, now for ones listed at 1p I wouldn't even bother, but for example, one where I've priced at 9.99, which was the lowest price when I listed, I'm still the lowest cost, however the next lowest cost is 12.99 so I've upped my prices on that a little :D

More pennies for me and not undercutting other sellers as much, brownie points please :rotfl:
  • Hi all, long time no see! Welcome to all those who've teamed up with us since I last spoke to you. :hello:
Lots of wheeling and dealing has been going on the past week, no carboots thanks to the weather, but some nice sales on ebay. I have been buying ("investing") quite a bit on the bumblebee site (police auctions) and got a few good bargains. A good place to look for items all starting at £1 bid. (bumblebeeauctions dot co dot uk - enter, then just do a search for your area).
All quiet on the Amazon front, have quite a lot of stuff on there at the moment, but no sales lately.
Don't forget ebay has free listing tomorrow and Monday ... time for another clear-out!
Lorrie - sorry to hear your problems with dooyoo, especially as you've been so helpful with your advice. Also, thanks to you I have managed to get work with a transcription agency, I should start getting my assignments on Monday
I hope to catch up with you all tomorrow evening, and wish you a happy and profitable weekend. xx
