The lions are beautiful aren't they - I was working with younger ones, teaching them skills so they can be released back into the wild. It is an amazing experience.
Go for it - once you know your budget then you'll be able to adjust your savings targetsDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
It's budgeting that is the problem though! One the one hand it would be our honeymoon so we want to splash out a little, but on the other hand we don't want to get too silly with it as it could end up very expensive!
And I would really need to start knuckling down with my savings, although I plan to do that anyway from the 1st of August. Need to start budgeting more and think I will definitely run with a weekly allowance to include things like take-aways as we are having far too many of them lately!
Savings 2 wouldn't change as that is the pot for Florida next year which really needs to start getting topped up!
Savings 1 is what I'm classing as my future wedding/honeymoon pot! I like to be organised and even though we are not engaged yet I will be really pleased to know that once we start planning we will already have some money put away...might need to up the total on that though!VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
Just checked my online banking and I've been paid a day early! :j:j:j
Have transferred the £15.67 I had left in my account in to Target 1.
Also had £51.16 hit my account from topcashback so that's been transferred to Target 1, total now £139.92/£200 and think that's probably about it for me this month on that challenge. That'll teach me for being over ambitious and starting the challenge 9 days early!
Total for Target 1 is looking healthy at £1989.66 - only £10.34 away from my target of £2000 by the 1st of August which isn't too bad!
Now need to try and push forward and up both savings totals much more frequently...
Have just signed up for August £5 a day challenge and hope to put more items for sale and might also do a car boot sale.
Won't be around here much after tomorrow as I'm off for a week and my sister's wedding is next Friday! Lots of outgoings in the meantime though, will need to watch my budget!VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
I'm back!!! A week off work goes sooo quickly!
Really enjoyed my sister's wedding, even after all the shenanigans during the planning stages! :rotfl:
Had a nice suprise last weekend, a lottery syndicate I pay in to had been on a rollover for 6 weeks, my number came up and I won £60! I deducted the £12 I'd put in over the 6 weeks and added the £48 profit to my August challenge!
The following day a £10 Tesco giftcard got delivered courtesy of VO and I got 21p interest in my bank. Also sold an item on eBay for £2.33 after fees, not much but every little helps!Total for August challenge now £60.54/£155 - not bad going since we're only on the 8th!
Haven't been watching the budget much this month, what with the wedding and being so busy organising things and family being up to visit we've been eating out lots and drinking plenty! Lol
Now full of the cold though so feeling sorry for myself!
Will plan to properly update the diary and savings targets once I get myself back on track! Need to hit my £3000 target by end of December!VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -

Thanks, I actually had a great time but quite glad that it's over now too! Lol
Trying to think of ways to make more money on this August challenge, thinking of doing a car boot sale as my mum wants to do one as well, that way we can split the entry fee and then have half a table each!
Not sure what everyone is selling on eBay to make such good money, I seem to mostly have beauty sets that weigh a tonne and aren't worth listing for the sheer cost that postage would be!
I actually have loads of stuff in my mum's attic but it's sorting it all out that's the problem! Lol
I also have some ten pin bowling equipment that I'm thinking of selling as I no longer use it.
Not sure how I can make money after August because I won't have anything left to sell! But I'd love to keep up the challenge for the rest of the year...VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
I'm wondering too after my not so massive sale of £2.49 after fees! I have lots that I'm sure would sell too if it wasn't for postage.... It's daft really - the person paid £5.68 total for my item so not cheap for them and yet after postage and fess I'm left with that amount!
Keep trying to get my head round matched betting as a few years ago I did fairly well out of bonus bagging on blackjack - matched betting seems much trickier though!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Could you list the other things on collection only? I listed some thing recently as couldnt work out the postage (would have be courior) and wasnt sure they would sell but they did
Also gave cash on collection so saved paypal fees?

That's a great idea mummy2mygirls
Are collection only listings included in the free 99p listings/free listing weekends do you know? x

I'm pretty sure they are Beccie as you can specify what type of delivery you are offering and you just select Collection Only instead!
I'll have another £8 to add shortly as just requested £5 from MySurvey and £3 from P!nec0ne - just need to wait on them both clearing out of paypal...
Spoke to my Mum about doing the car boot last night and she's up for it, so need to sort some stuff out. We've agreed we'll split the entry fee and have half a table each so will see what I can get rid of! Probably won't be for another week or two yet but will definitely start getting organised for it.
Trying to think of how else I can make money, I'm up to date on all my surveys and need 74p on crowdology for a payout but seem to keep getting screened out!VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0
