Thanks Mummy, it does feel really good, knowing that I've managed to hit that target when this time last year I was still trying to clear my student loan!
What a difference a year makes, that's all I can say!
In full flow for saving for Florida now, just trying to make sure I don't leave myself short by focussing on it too much!VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
Thought I better update!
£5 a day for October is currently sitting at £82.56
Savings 2 hasn't moved - been buying a few xmas presents and waiting on money due back to me
Been getting lots of £2 coins but the terramundi pot still doesn't seem full!
In other news, I've set up a Memorial Fund for my Nana with Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and have been able to set up a JustGiving page so that friends and family can contribute. Also been selling Leukaemia pin badges for £1 each, started fundraising on Monday (10th) and so far have £40 which I think is pretty good.
Also helped my mum to get her wedding stationery business up and running, it now has it's own website and facebook page, if anyone would like to know more please PM me!VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
Wow it's nearly November already, where has the year gone?!
Not much money-wise to update although we have several plans in place...
We are looking to invest in a property with OH's parents, just a flat to get us started on the property market and is obviously a long term investment but hopefully it will be ok. Aiming to rent it out and make a little each month on the rent.
We are also looking to start saving for a deposit for our own place, we currently rent our place from OH's parents and have decided that long term when we are married and have kids of our own then we will want to be somewhere else. So today I have applied for our first joint savings account with the Post Office and have signed up for the £12k in 2012 challenge although we are aiming at £6000 to start! Will see how close to that we can get with having Florida next year too!
Haven't been adding much to savings as have been concentrating on Christmas. Also been fundraising for Leukaemia in memory of my Nana, now up to £107
Also just launched our Winter Offer on our Wedding Stationery site, www.enchantingoccasions.co.uk please pass the link on if you know anyone getting married, 10% discount for all bookings and deposits confirmed between 1 Nov 2011 - 29 Feb 2012VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
Wow, it's all go for you!
Checked out the website - will defnitely pass it along to people, the invitations are gorgeous!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Aww thanks Beccie, my Mum makes them all by hand and a great deal of attention goes in to each one.
Also please feel free to tell people that distance is not a problem, just because we are in Scotland does not mean we can't deal with people in England, we just need a little longer to process orders!
Yes lots going on, but it passes the time and keeps us busy!VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
So we did the car boot sale, made £102.30 so my £51.15 has been put aside for a trip to Edinburgh at the end of the month
Not much money making to report really...
Waiting on the following:
£10 McCains Voucher
£6 Pinecone
Savings 2 now up to £500/£2500 so a long way to go still, hoping to get adding to this properly soon but things keep getting in the way. Various family members owe me money to the tune of £500 so once I get that money back it'll all get added to these savings.
I think my plan for the make £5 a day challenge will be that once I hit £50 I transfer it to Savings 2
We've also started saving for a house depositI've signed up for the 12k in 2012 challenge although for now I have set us a more realistic target of £6000, hopefully if we get near that we can up the target more. Anyway we've opened a Post Office Joint Savings Account with £50 but unfortunately that can't be added to the target as the money has to be saved in 2012!

Transferred £4.42 for VSP today, new total for that is £297 - I can't believe how easily I've saved nearly an extra £300 without really noticing it!
New total for Savings 1 is now £2004.42
Got a job interview tomorrow so really hoping it goes well, this is stage 2 of the process so seems quite positive anyway! Fingers crossed!VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
