I'm 23 and feel that money management should be taught in schools, ie budgeting, taxes, etc. Don't think I'd be in as much or any debt if someone had showed me a site like this 7yrs ago

I totally agree. I would have realised much earlier how stupid it is to be continually in debt if this had been taught at school. We did study home economics ie cooking (which I believe most schools don't really teach these days any more, tho could be wrong) and it's been invaluable to me as a money saver. My parents lived thriftily but never really seem to have communicated with me how or why that I can remember - I wish they had. I'd have so much more money if I'd been more sensible!!

I'm 23 with £2500 0% interest debt and £15,000 student loan, if only i had realised how bad debt was 4 years ago! I think teaching kids to save would be great, maybe puting some of their pocket money in a savings account. I can see my 16 year old sister getting into loads of debt but how can I tell her? She does what she wants including spending every penny of her first job's wages on clothes and going out!

I'm 35 and wish I'd had my lightbulb moment earlier - 5 years would have suited me as I had very little debt then although I wasn't very financially savvy I did not even have a credit card until I was 25. I think (no, I'm sure!) that I would not have got myself into such a mess if I didn't have such a stingy git for an ex-husband! (That is a whole other story which I will save for another occasion)
