I also think you should talk to your Daughter as this might be the best time to say that it's not good to keep things bottled up and if she has a problem that she should talk to you so you can get it sorted like you are now.

here in wales there's an organisiation called snapcymru that go to school meetings with parents and help them know their rights/the system/to write letters and generally support them. I figure they'll be a similar type organisation in england? You could call your Local Authority and ask if there are any 'parent partnerships' in your area.Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.0 -
You have got to keep your cool!! I know its hard esp as you have seen your child suffer some severe stress related symptoms not to mention the grabbing of her shoulder but you are teaching your daughter more than you may realise in how you handle this situation.
I would write to the govenors and lea (send copy to head). I think you need to try to get other parents involved esp if you know they are not happy with this teacher either and one parent complaining is unlikly to go far. The head has asked for details in writing as she is most likely trying to build a case but this is not easy as evidence must be shown. In the meantime I would ask for child to be removed from this teachers class for the rest of this year I know she will miss her friends but you can support her by encouraging her to make some more new friends. My LO is best friends with a child in the other class. Your DD can still be friends with the kids in the old class and you can suport the friendships by having them over for tea now and again etc.
Good luck and dont give up it is a long proccess due to the guidelines that need to be followed.
And that is exactly why i didnt go and discuss it with the class teacher and went straight to the head, i knew i wouldnt be able to keep my cool with her so it was best to avoid that contact for now until i had calmed down about it!
I think the fact that they have only put her in the other class as a temporary measure isnt helping her which is something i am going to be discussing with the head this afternoon.
I will see if there are any parent partnerships around here thanks for that

I think I would be acting in the same way!PrincessPlaty wrote: »
I think personally i have taken the best course of action by not going to the teacher because if i did the outcome would probably be me being arrested!0 -
Right have got the details for parent partnership but there is just an answerphone there dont think i am going to get through to them before the meeting though!
Hopefully the head will be able to see me wish me luck!0 -
Good luck.
Your poor daughter has clearly been traumatised by this wicked woman, God bless her, I just hope she recovers with gentle treatment from her new teacher, poor little mite.
In the meantime, I suggest you send a copy of your letter to the head to the school governors, the LEA and your MP. I hate to say it, but the Head may indeed be gathering enough evidence to enable her to remove the class teacher, but considering she knows there are problems, the fact that she hasn't made the time to speak to you personally and reassure both of you, greatly concerns me. In fact, I think it's outrageous ~ this is bullying, on the odd occasion I've needed to go into school, both primary and secondary, Heads or deputies have been available immediately, as these issues are serious!I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -

Good luck!
Don't be fobbed off with the 'head is too busy to see you' stuff. Calmly and politely say that you have already had that 'treatment' and had prewarned the head that you were coming at this time to see him/her. Then sit down and don't move, even if it means sitting there until school is over. You are entitled to be heard!0 -

I really feel for you

I'd be sat there not leaving too, that's the only way to get things done! Fortunately my girl's infant school has been absolutely amazing with everything and we are what could be called a 'high maintenance' family owing to the special needs and family court (and related behaviour) issues and not once have I ever found them to be less than outstanding.
Good luck today, Fingers crossed!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession
