Yeah, separate the clothes into piles according to mens, womens kids etc. People will rummage - especially for kids clothes, not so much adults.
Videos will not sell (although we offloaded some kiddy one recently but only for 25p each - worth leaving at home if you have HUGE amounts to get rid and pack more stuff you'll get more money for!)
I would suggest borrowing a paste-table to start with - you ight decide that bootfairing is not for you (I would urge you to stick with it though). You can pick up okish ones for around £10-15 - if you can't borrow one when you need it! You could get away with 1 table and plenty of blankets / tarps for the floor, depends on how much you have!
Jewelry does go well - make sure non of it is gold though as you would be better off taking it to a 'gold place'. I know someone who trawls bootfairs picking up gold and selling it for 'scrap' and making a tidy profit!!!
CD's and DVD's will go - depending on what they are!
Books can go really well, and you can pack loads into a box so they won't take up heaps of space (warning - boxes with books in get HEAVY!)start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -
Thank you very much for the tips and answers to my questions! hoping to do one at the end of july sometime. Have got loads of stuff to go through first.
Am happy to report my car flew through its mot so only having to fork out for the test! PHEW!!!!! car fund still intact.............for now at least.
Have now cancelled my bank card and have to wait 7-10 days for my new one. That should keep me out of the shops nicely.:D
Have a cake order for fri and waiting for payment for the cake i did at the weekend...................£60 in total. Will take off amount spent on supplies and the rest will wing its way to the debts!
Have worked out (coz i am a little sad, with time on my hands...........) that if i carry on paying what i am at the minute it will take just over 3 years to clear my debts! Thats knocked a year off what some of the agreements state (original date was 2014 sometime) Need to bring this down a year as so want to be debt free when ds2 starts school in 2 years and my childcare will go down huge amounts. This will allow us to start saving for rainy days, nice holidays and home improvements.December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Im still here and still on track!:D and OH is still on board too:D:D
Checked my bank, its still seems to be going in the wrong direction as all spending before renewed lightbulb moment has now come out, but thats all that has come out! i obviously cant spend but Oh hasnt either.
Done my free scratcheez and thats about it for today. My house is gonna smell yummy later as i make the cake for tomorrow.... also going for a long walk with a mate for free exercise, the weather is dull here but hoping the rain holds off.
Ds2 now getting in the swing of terrible 2's, not as bad as ds1 was but i now know how to handle it and how to get around it and stop the tantrums or reduce how long they are. The only difference is ds2 seems to like to hit when he doesnt get his own way, need to try and stop that. luckily (or not) he only seems to hit me, OH and ds1 and not other children........yet!
How is everyone else getting on?December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Hi Rags,
I signed up to a few of the surveys, I think I'm on 3 of them, not sure if you are allowed to mention them by name?
I'm getting annoyed though because on some of them I do so much of the survey and then it boots me out, I actually did one just the other day and I got to 100% and then it said 'sorry you don't qualify blah blah blah'
I don't have kids (yet anyway!) but I have an 8 month old puppy and it's just like she's reached her terrible 2's as well! Full of mischief and I swear she actually answers you back if you give her in trouble! :rotfl:VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -

Hi rags - nice to come on and find a shiny new diary!! I think i need to have a refreshed LBM aswell.....maybe a new diary might kick me back into gear!!
Good luck with the car boots. And well done to DH for not spending more in the garages.
Oh i had forgotten about surveys - must get back into them....
Looking forward to reading more of your new diaryGC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. No6 Due Mar 2013 My world.:j0 -
I still do a few surveys but am too sick of being screened out of them, cant sit be my computer all day checking for new ones every 5 mins (which i think you must need to do to catch them early)
Well i have found my dream house, its beautiful and exactly what i had in my head that a house should look like, even down to the island thingy in the kitchen. Due to my stupid debts its an impossible dream (unless someone wants to lend my £237k so i dont need to sell mine?!?! no, didnt think so)
Oh well, not going to let it get me down, its just another reason to try and get debt free.
Wages went in today and have an extra £250 or so to throw at the debts form my wage. Then should have the money from my cakes by tonight so will put that in the bank next week and wing that at the debts. Waiting for another £280 from my fellas overtime but those who have known me a while will know its like waiting for xmas getting his overtime money.
Right, back to work today, really wish i could stay off but time is money and all that! least its gonna rain up here today, dont feel im missing out on much.December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Just popping into your new diary to say hi rags - great news about the MOT, spending money on the car is my pet hate!
Am loving your plan in your first post, I've done something similar and am finding it a great help, keeping it in my handbag and being able to tick things off as I do them. The only hurdle I need to get over is trying to make DH take a packed lunch instead of spending £5 a day  on food and posh coffee at work. He works 7 days a week so it's really adding up, on top of the £4 a day train fare. What's the secret? How did you get your DH to stop his garage spending?*** PROPHECY_GRRL****** DEBT FREE AS OF 17/10/11 - I DID IT!!! ***0
