ESA vent...

My OH was due to have his ESA medical this afternoon (at 3.00pm), they had already cancelled one appointment a couple of weeks ago. I had booked the afternoon off work to take him and then at about 12.30 I get a phone call saying sorry but they have to cancel it because there are just too many people attending interviews this afternoon and they won't be able to fit them all in:mad::mad:

We were all psyched up for it and just wanted to get it over and done with. Now have to wait until 28th July, if that one actually happens.

Just out of interest, do they backdate ESA if you are lucky enough to be awarded it?

Yes, they do backdate the premium to week thirteen.

Did you have any other questions relating to your benefit entitlement?

Why do you work for DWP? I am not being rude or sarcastic, just really would like to know.

I don't see that my private life has anything to do with your problem.

Do you have a benefits related to question?

Sorry if I have offended you, I didn't mean to.

It was just the way you asked about benefits related questions, as if you had some special knowledge about benefits - i.e. more than the average person. Obviously I was sadly mistaken.

If you refer to the sticky at the top of the board, this board is for getting people their benefit entitlement, hence my question. If you just fancy a rant you would be best to post in the Moneysaving Arms.

You really don't have to be quite so rude, I did apologize for my mistake in thinking you were an expert.

It is not a case of fancying a rant; it was very disappointing to have the appointment cancelled at such a late stage when we all we want is to get it over and done with.

Eh? I think you have read something different to what I wrote!

Your title was vent, which is the equivalent to a rant.

I had 3 cancellations as the ESA doctor phoned in sick.
  • I think the doctor (If he was a real one) at my husbands esa medical got his people mixed up!!!
My husband is diabetic, has kidney cancer, mobility problems and is on higher rate dla.. he got nil points!!
never got asked how far he could walk..got 0 points
did not kneel/ bend because he cannot..got 0 points.
and so it went on.. why are the government wasting money paying these liars and then having to pay other people to look at all the thousands of appeals...
