Hi Althel
thanks for the response, it does worry me as they are still persistently contacting me.. I am going to ignore the letters but have fear they may turn up at my door with bailiffs.
thanks again
Debt collectors are not bailiffs, they just write letters (or occasionally make phone calls - which you can stop easily).
As posted just above your post, we have told you that you can SAFELY just play a nice game of snap with each letter that matches our sticky thread called 'PPC letters & threats'. There will be no Court, no bailiff, no CCJ, no sending anyone round, no effect on your credit rating.
NOTHING AT ALL.
It's easy, for gawd's sake - we have all done it ourselves!!
Did you actually read the forum information? You cannot have read the third from top thread I advised you already, to look at. If you had you would have seen it's JUST A MAIL SCAM and you would have seen the Watchdog video with an expert solicitor called Tim Cary, telling you in his inimitable way that this is unenforceable rubbish!
Please look at my previous post where I said where to click to see the forum thread list - it's only ONE click away so not difficult to find the thread mentioned.
They won't and can't send the boys round. Do you honestly imagine that a company can allege a charge is due and then just send a bailiff round without Court? If that were the case then I could tell you now you owe me £75 for this reply and that I would send a random bailiff round if you don't pay me!
It cannot happen without them winning a Small claim in Court first (won't happen).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have received a very formal looking "Charge Notice" from Highview Parking.......INITIAL PANIC SET IN !!! I read all the above comments and have no intention of paying the £70.00 charge. The only reservation I have relates to the previous comment "blot my credit". Could anyone confirm if this bogus company can do this. Also, what are the chances of being taken to Court ??????0

Look at the list for 2011 for the chances of being taken to court.
The heading is.
Those 845 court claims - PPC league tablecraigy*boy wrote: »I have received a very formal looking "Charge Notice" from Highview Parking.......INITIAL PANIC SET IN !!! Yes they can take you to court, and they could win, and they could blot your credit BUT
They would have had to have won the court case 0% probability, then you would have had to not paid the courts, then they could register a ccj......so in reality IT AIN GONNA HAPPEN IS ITYou may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
There was only 25 successful cases last year from all these parking companies out of 1.8m phoney tickets issued, this is fact as the proof has been obtained by some respectful members on here. So you do the maths on that, also consider that this company never went to court once.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
The more unpleasant threats usually include mentioning that, if the case goes to court, a county court judgement (CCJ) will be issued, that bailiffs will be appointed and that your credit rating will be ruined. For things to actually get to this stage, the car park owner would have to take you to court and win the case. Then, you would have to refuse to pay, to get a CCJ issued after 28 days. Then, you would have to still refuse to pay, to get bailiffs appointed. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

Going to court for any PPC is pure propergander, it costs them more then they would recover, they do it for point scoring. Luckily most of them know this and don't bother.
It seems Highview realise this and simply move on to the next victim after exhausting the letter chain.0 -

And probably most of them are default judgements as it wasn't defended for whatever reason so closer to 1 in 100k chance of losing a defended case.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?

I wish I could get that fact through to a couple of mods over on CAG who have taken the figures out of context, and keep proclaiming that the PPCs have a "50% success rate" when they take people to court. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
