Just an hour would be about right FC depending on traffic, we make that trip often. We in Doncaster our Daughter is in Derby.

Hi,
I also live in Derby and from the top of my head, can think of a couple of rescues close by. Have you tried
http://www.secondchancerescuekennels.co.uk/
Second chance are very very good. DH and I visit them most weekends to take up newspapers, blankets, etc and to see the dogs. None of the dogs are kept permanently caged, they are allowed to roam free and they have acres of land there. We will soon be looking to rescue a second dog, hopefully from Second Chance. I highly recommend them and know of two family members who's dogs went there and have since been successfully rehomed.
Also have you tried The Ark in Ashbourne..?"Your life is what your thoughts make it"

R.i.P our beautiful girl Suki. We'll love and miss you forever

DOH!!! I know she is not a pure bred bulldog!!
But as there is a long waiting list for bulldogs and as going by op's original description of Dorset old thyme bulldog which rather than 'new improved' type is trying to take them back to what they originally were! They look like a 'modern' bulldog (barring the tail) and have the temperament of a bulldog so for someone wanting a bulldog as a pet she could of been ideal-rescue dogs go without papers so does it really matter? The fact that so many people were(and I imagine are) desperate for one(not enough in rescue) means that the chances of them finding her a home would of been pretty good. Afterall a dog without papers could, in theory, be anything
I do know what they rehome- family member used to do home checks for them0 -
OP -May be worth giving Fireside rescue a call on 0870 777 9294-it is a rehoming service for ALL bullbreeds!!

I personally would be more concered that she would be used for fighting as opposed to breeding.
Training is a possibility but they are oh so stubborn (and pretty stupid tbh-and I love the breed)0 -

Thanks for everyones suggestions. I've emailed and telephoned them all, unfortunately the either can't help or haven't got back to me. Hopefully something crops up soon.0

Do you 100% have to rehome her? What if she has a simple medical problem which is causing her aggression and that can be fixed?
Any behaviourist worth listening to will ask for a full vet check on the dog first, as so often changes in behaviour can be brought on by medical issues. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
I do hope someone can help you. It does demonstrate though, how hard it is to get places for dogs now0

Was she, or your other girl in season or close to a season when the incident happened?
Have only speed read the thread so sorry if I missed it.A dog with a behaviour problem needs help not punishment.0
