I am pretty disgusted that Bulldog rescue will not consider re-homing her. I have had experience with this breed(bulldog) in the past and the waiting lists for a rescue dog were always huge!!
If I didn't have a dog I would seriously consider rehoming myself!

    How about the original breeder??

She's not a purebred bulldog - she's some sort of "new & improved" mix of bull breeds - a mongrel, if truth be told :(. So, No, Bulldog rescue would not take her - they rehome purebred bulldogs.

I would be very surprised if the original "breeder" would be interested in taking her back - these sort of "designer dogs" (cockerpoos, labradoodles, sprokers, puggles - and other stupidly named crosses) are bred as moneyspinners. However, all the more reason to get her spayed first - if you were able to locate her "breeder" you don't want her to be used to produce yet more crossbred pups.

Did you say she is a crossed staffie? I was just wondering if any of the staffie rescues could help if thats the case.

in that case, she is just a mongrel, with a fair smattering of a big bully breed which will make her harder to rehome sadly, as the rescues are full of similar dogs - but I expect she is quite a big and powerful looking girl? If she is, she is sadly likely to appeal to people who want her for undesirable reasons...a speying before letting her go anywhere is a must.

there are quite a few ABD crosses on dogpages... http://www.dogsblog.com/category/american-bulldog-cross/

I really am lost for suggestions. I just want a better home for her now, shes living in the shed and its just not ideal for her. She's got the garden but i cant even take her out as shes just to strong for me to hold on a lead. Hoping that i get a few replys from the emails i sent.

I understand you wanting a better home for her, but sadly, rescues up and down the country are bursting with dogs like yours - and a strong, not lead trained, middle aged, dog-aggressive bull breed mongrel (I know it sounds harsh, but on paper that is what she is) is not an easy dog to rehome - not to good homes anyway!

At least ensure she doesnt go to a worse fate - if none of the local rescues can take her, please ensure she is speyed before going down the private rehoming route. Some people use dogs for breeding that never get to go outside the shed they live in.

It is really difficult at the moment, rescues are bursting - the bottom line is that there are more dogs than there are good homes for.

If it was my dog, I think I would consider whether there was any way of working on training, after getting both girls speyed, and maybe invest in crates (or some other way of keeping them seperate) for the dogs for when you are not in, to prevent any fights.

A vet check may be in order too - it is possible that she has reacted this way because she is ill.
