Halifax Clarity Card Launch Today!
Comments

That letter came about 7 days after I applied.
The card will look like this0 -
I think the card colour must be delating them in getting the cards out.
Look forward to earning my £5 a month0 -
Does anyone know their exchange rate or where it's published online?
I'm trying to calculate whether it's best to get currency which is showing at €117 from MSE's linked travelmoney.moneysavingexpert.com site
or to get the cash out when I'm in Spain with the Halifax Clarity.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

So did i.
I am tempted to get cash out when i am in Turkey. I usually take travellers cheques, but the sterling ones carry a 1% surcharge.
If the interest is 12.9 then that makes it about the same as long as i pay it off when i return.
Have i got this right?0 -
Well, The "Typical" APR is 12.9.
I received my agreement qwith a shocking 21.9, someone else on here got theirs with 19.9 (I think) So just double check your terms and that you have got 12.9.
This is the second time Halifax stung me like this and maybe some could call it false advertising
I will certainly never take cash out on the card and aim to settle in full every month
**Edit** will settle in full every month with that interest rate!
I wonder if they will reduce the APR's after a few months running the account...0 -
Yes, I think so. I plan on doing the same (and have all the other cc cards you mention!).
The only slight enhancement is that the OH has also been approved (in her own right) and so I'm planning on doing two lots of £300 between us on Clarity (per month) and the remainder on Egg Money.

I plan the same thing too! (Spend £300 on Clarity & then use Cap1 & EggMoney, that is). I didn't even notice about the cashback until after I'd applied for the card (just for foreign usage was my original idea) & been approved on-line... Good idea about the OH -- I wonder if I could get approved again in her name (she already has a current a/c, well THREE actually!, courtesy of yours truly...) even though I have already lined her up as an Additional Cardholder. Think I might give it a try (with ME as A.C/holder). I notice the Clarity card does NOT have a Dormancy Charge whereas the Santander Zero DOES. I think that, as & when the Clarity card comes through, I will cancel the Zero card since it only has a credit limit of £600(!) whereas I have been told on-line that my Clarity c/limit will be £9300.Expect the worst & hope for the best...0 -

Once you've had the account for a year they will review your interest rate.
I had a Halifax One card as one of my first cards - started off with a £1,700 limit and 19.9% APR.
Within 18 months I had a £2,450 limit and 12.9% APR (reduced to 15.9% after 12 months then 12.9% after another six months).
Good luckCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Same here.
I'd go for it. Once up and running you could be looking at £40 FREE money from Halifax every month!
[6 x RCA + 2 x Clarity]
