toottifrootti Thank you so much for the hugs - really sweet of you. I'll get through all this traumatic stuff soon, and it 'll be great to know that DH is settled. As soon as we've found somewhere, he's ready for discharge from hospital. I've been a 24/7 carer for quite a while, so am ready for a bit of 'me' time (that sounds selfish, but YKWIM).

Now, on the Flying front - I've just logged in to see what I ought to be doing today. Well, my bathroom is immaculate, as I've been very good on the swishing and swiping recently, and, I gave the shower screen a good clean this a.m. with white vinegar, a squeegee and a rag, without even knowing it was a target spot!

My laptop looks clean, and I've edited my favourites list (got several MSE links on it!), so feel quite justified in making myself a nice cup of coffee (the Douwe Egberts that was really cheap with Approved Foods) and having a bit of a sit down!

One job I have to do later is clean my hearth and grate. I've just moved out my broken electric fire, and a man's coming later to measure up etc for a gas fire. It's the right time to buy one, at summer prices.

    Have a good day everyone!

Morning all, my sister got the house last night:j:j:j:j:j they move in on the 20th. At least that is one thing sorted.

Thats great news and one less thing for you to worry about :T:T

Winchelsea (((((hugs)))))) it is always hard when looking at dementia care homes don't forget to look at the reports on different homes as they are all inspected and the report will give you details of any problems/concerns that they have with the home.
Dementia is not nice when I was working as a career I had a famous authoress who was a client who had dementia and she was lovely it was so the hardest thing was I became to involved and it broke my heart having to put her in a home but the last time I visited her she looked so well it was lovely to see her and to see that she had settled so well.

I am still waiting for carpet fitters who was supposed to be here at 10 am:mad::mad:

ETA They have just turned up only 54 mins late but there here:T:T:T:T

    Morning everyone

Working from home today but do have loads to do. Does decluttering the inbox count as flying :) Should get some other bits done around the work so I am hoping to generally tidy the house, possibly mow the lawn, water the plants, hoover the lounge (spike is moulting like mad atm) sort through some home paperwork and do a plan for some weekend cleaning.
wish me luck i am so bad at this

Thank you so much for your kind thoughts mummyslittleboy

Yes, I have looked at the CQC website for the reports - they do help.

My DD3 was telling me that when she worked at a hospital in Oxford they had a patient who had very severe dementia - no way of knowing what he'd been like before. When he died, his obituary was in the paper, and the staff were all shocked to find he'd been a top professor, really well known in academia.

Have had my coffee - now to fill up the WM and throw something in the SC for tonight! (As long as I throw the things in the right places!)

My sister is up so we're going to do a few messages in town. DD's wardrobe should be here after 3pm so i need to sort out all her stuff before it arrives.

Right best get Rhys ready, see you all later.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

    Hello!

Very little flying done here as I've been mad busy with work - trying to fit everyone in so i don't have to work too much during the summer holidays. The house is mostly tidy but needs a good clean but as we've got friends coming round tonight I'll do some when I finish work!

DD only has one week left at primary school. She's been on a visit to high school again and loves it. She's got one good friend in her new class so she's happy. She also got her SATs results and I'm very proud of her - mind you, she worked so hard that whatever she got I'd have been proud! DS having a few pains again but hopefully settled. Stripes is finding the weather too hot whilst our elderly dog loves the heat! Mad! WW going well - have now lost 14.5 lbs with 7.5 to go! I'll fit in that wetsuit yet!

Right, hugs to you all xxx
