Thanks ash, do you think if I rang again they would tell me? They might get annoyed at me though, I am supposing they log our calls to them! It seems silly to be so impatient but to know there is a decision and not know the outcome is so frustrating!!
i have had my decision over the phone !!!!!
why would they get annoyed JUST DO IT LOL i no the stress and the relief and after my decision i didnt have my letter till a week later0 -
Hi, I am new to this so please be gentle!! I have a claim in for D.L.A and so far have had one letter saying they were contacting my Physio for a report and 2 weeks after that and them receiving this they then wrote saying they were requesting a report from my GP. I rang up on Friday and they haven't received his report yet. I was assessed by Social Services 2 weeks ago and am having various aids to help me and when I rang DWP on Friday I asked if I should send them a copy of the letter from Social Services detailing what I was having. The Lady on the phone said I could tell her and she would pass the information on. Do you think I should still send in a copy of the letter? Thank you.
:hello:Hi welcome,Ive mentioned before in a previous thread that until recently I worked for DWP benefits section (ironically they couldn't keep me on due to my disability even with EDA so ive gone from dishing out benefits to claiming them
) I get highest rate in both components. I have to say that mainly staff do as promise more in that dept than others. When I first claimed DLA they lost my claim and tried to tell me they had no proof that I'd sent it and that I would have to start from scratch until I pointed out the software names that would record it etc they asked me to do form again and they back dated to 1st claim date but its very unfair that it happens esp when you have no way of prooving it . I always stressed to customers to get the completed claim pack photocopied as nightmare to fill in once never mind again also when you have to do a renewal it helps you to be accurate in your renewal esp if your condition changes. I actually phone them up when I have a significant jump in meds for e.g morphine or a new medical 'add on' such as catheters etc as if you keep them informed your less likely to have any mis-takes in your on going claim or renewals. So sorry long drawn out answ if you have had an official list of equip that was not pre on your claim form as its recent then send the letter but please please everyone photo copy everything the small cost of this is worth every penny . Sorry for next line I'm obligated to say it ...The above words and thoughts are of my own and not in any way of or intented to be that of the DWP. Hope you get everything sorted K :T 0 -

if theres nothing in the post on monday, i really would give them a ring, they can only refuse to tell you. But for mine and my sons they told me via the telephone. You've got nothing to lose. good luck x0 -

Its horrible waiting, especially when they told me yesterday that a decision was made but the Gentleman wouldn't tell me over the phone! I first sent for my forms on the 19th of March and it has taken them this long. Instead of looking at the claim and asking everything they wanted to know in one go they would send a letter for one thing then get that and after it sitting somewhere for a while and then being looked at they would then send again asking something else . Oh well, it's just a waiting game but if I don't hear anything on Monday I will ring them again as maybe I will get someone on the phone who will tell me! It is a new claim so not sure if that is why he wouldn't tell me.0 -
