have had a call for the troops from a very nice forum member ... can anyone help

Have replied on that thread. Thanks, El.
P, I have £40 a week in my budget which HAS to cover all grocery shopping, to include washing powder, cat food etc, and all food for 4 of us (including student).
So, that equals your £10 a week nicely!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

well gillian why not join us and see if you can get that £45 down to, say £35? its all to do with buying smartly. taking advantage of offers. I am vegetarian and quorn is usually hellish expensive, but at the moment they have some fab deals on in mr ocset... (not sure if i'm allowed to say the name!!) so that made me able to stock up my freezer quite nicely. I also buy alot of his own brands to. their own brand chopped toms are the nicest tasting i've ever found. Its not about cutting back just about being a smart shopper!
ok so, hypnos target £180 per month for 4, my target is £65 for the month (just for lil meand £34 gone already!!! gulp) who else is coming aboard? x

Might try and split the budget and work out what is for me and what is for DS. As he works and contributes, its not fair to use that money to pay my debts. Six months ago I was unemployed so was managing on less as I had no choice, but have started to slip a bit lately. I used to be a master of making mince last forever.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

I will try the challenge - will start on 31/07 (the day I get paid).
There are two of us, 2 dogs and two cats so I will aim for £100, which is not easy considering that covers lunches as well (but then again Hypno will have kids not at school!). Cupboards are pretty much empty so this will be a challenge, considering I already do most of my shopping at Lidl now.LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.
(CC/LOAN = [STRIKE]36,378.98[/STRIKE] 35668.47. O/D = [STRIKE]1255.32[/STRIKE] 1212.35/[STRIKE]1999.78[/STRIKE] 1934.52, BUS = [STRIKE]9769.76[/STRIKE] 8714.98)
Challenge = Debt at 31/01/12 = £25k. 2011 Payments = £1,944.19/£24,403.84
There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!
