Yes, not always good to focus too much on the weight, the inches gone are much more important and satisfying I think. I really need to just tone up, though as being a woman, I'd really like to get back under 9st, but it's really not my main aim. I just want to get fitter so I'll be able to keep up bit better when we're mountain biking or doing other activities.

Well, I am not focusing on the weight anymore - in fact I hardly get on the scales now, but I am enjoying the fact that I am still wearing my size 10 jeans and fully intend to do so for the foreseeable future :j

I am concentrating on eating what I want, when I want, and doing exercise that I enjoy rather than that I feel I should do. The difference now, from last year for example, is that I don't want to eat as much, or as often, and I am enjoying my running, so all of that, combined with a pretty feel good feeling is helping things stay static, and when I do get on the scales it is showing the same numbers as the last time I got on them.

So, that is good enough for me! I am comfortably under 10 stone, and look and feel better than I have done for a long time. Long may it last :D

It has been a long time coming, SF - the number of times I have tried to diet and/or exercise in years gone by but never for the right reasons. This time is different. I have a different mindset, and it all clicked into place.

So, all I can say, SF, is that it WILL happen, when it is right for it to happen for you, but maybe trying to change the way you look at things might have an effect. If you haven't tried Paul McKenna's "I can make you thin", then I would certainly recommend it xxx

Although we don't *formally* have an official paydate, it is expected, on that basis.

No formal payday? That's *very* unusual.

In years gone by, this would have been a disaster. Today it is an inconvenience. That, my friends, is pretty good progress and a reason to be positive about the future.

    Good on you! :T

Wednesday's I go for a group run which is nice as they push me to run bit faster, but have always been happy running on my own. Like the park runs as well, they really motivate you to go bit faster again. :)

Yes, runs through most parks these days encourage you to go just that little bit quicker...

Good on you Hypno, for having a healthy eating and exercise routine, and for refusing to have disasters any more! Quite right too! :D

Just a quick question - how does the Paul McKenna work with WW? I know his book questions the weight loss clubs so I'd be interested to know how you used it and what helped it work for you.

The knickers don't have seams anywhere - otherwise it can become very painful. When I run Loch Ness had to go without (which made the massage after tricky) because I had forgotten my running underwear and could not risk wearing normal ones.

Sorry if TMI but thought some might find funny and others learn from my experience.

Oh yes, my running knickers were a very wise "spend" I have to say!
(Running knickers - no-one can ever say this thread is not a learning experience, in more ways than one)
Definitely a learning experience, and surprisingly more pleasant than hearing my brother and his friends talk about their cycling underwear for the coast to coast ride they are doing. And the effects of not wearing it - definitely TMI

I used WW for the discipline side of things and Paul McKenna for the "self" side of things.

I still go to WW to be weighed, because I like the external control that it brings (and makes me smile when I get on the scales), but the inner control from the hypno stuff is what really keeps me on the right path.

At the end of the day, I have always known *what* I am supposed to do, so I never went to the classes at WW, just went to be weighed and collect my booklet. I didn't need WW to give me new habits as such, what I needed was my head to be in the right place, and Mr McKenna is very good at helping me there.

But, given my user name, I might be a bit biased towards that way of working :o
