It is the joints at the wrist end of the thumb that have been broken, rather than the bit of the thumb that can be seen IYKWIM, so any lifting puts pressure on that part of my hand, sadly. And as I have done it to both hands on more than one occasion, I really should begin to learn my lesson :rotfl:
I have just put the oven shelves in the oven-mate bag.....and will tackle the oven itself when I get back from the football. Now time for a quick shower and something to eat before heading out. Hypno, one major problem with cast iron le creuset is they're not supposed to go in the dishwasher (well that's what it said when I last bought some with care labels on), and I love dishwashers. I stick to only buying the oven dishes and giant lasagne dishes etc. which I don't use so often, so don't mind washing by hand. I treated myself to some super scandinavian saucepans, which look still look like new and don't mind the dishwasher. The le creuset saucepans are really heavy too.
I did have a le creuset frying pan, which cracked in 2 within a week of purchase!! The shop refunded it without any questions, they were in shock when I took it back in 2 pieces!!!
ZTD comment about not going for the fashionable colours is a good one. I loved the racing green, and most has had to have been bought off ebay, but I do set strict price limits when bidding.0 -
Just thought if you've got any french car trips planned, it's worth checking out the Le Coussance in the hypermarkets. It's very similar and a lot cheaper.0

Well done on the understairs cupboard. Hope it has a cheering effect on you like doing mine has had on me. I haven't got a door on mine and have now only got a little bedside cabinet sort of cupboard with my course stuff in and a few 'artfully displayed' brightly coloured boxes I bought in the sale under there. I keep walking past and thinking ooohh is that really part of my house, lol!!! Very good incentive to keep up the decluttering.0

Well done on the extra decluttering! :T I'm extremely impressed :j
I quite like the idea of multi-coloured set of pans :rotfl: But then I'm not one for matching sets - none of our crockery/cutlery/socks etc matches :rotfl: much less stressful that way! :rotfl:
(and all our pans (well, all 3 of them :rotfl:) strangely enough do match after I said that! :rotfl: But they're all from charity shops at different times, red, with vague variations on swirly things round the bottoms :rotfl: Actually, they kind of match, but aren't all the same, if you see what I mean>..)
Actually, ignore all that, not sure any of it made sense!! :rotfl: Too many chocolate pancakes I think0 -
Well, the rain was nowhere to be found, and the sun shone all afternoon so a lovely afternoon, and 3 points as well so all very welcome.
I've rinsed off and replaced the oven shelves and they look sparkly, so I will think about doing the oven itself - was going to do it this evening, but X factor about to start so will give it a miss now (oven cleaning, not X factor!).....
So, all in all, a good productive day all round :TSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Cheery does that mean you don't wear watching undies?
HA
Getting a full drawer of matching ones is on my list for this year but I am working for an undie shop now!
Hypno well done on your decluttering. My mate uses Le Creuset and has bought them at the outlets before if that helps?
I'm sitting vegging tonight. This was my 1st Saturday in charge at the shop and it was VERY busy. My feet hurt.
X is on now :j:j:jHave a good one all X'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Thank-you so much for all your survey visits. DD has almost got enough answers to make some intelligent analysis :rotfl:
She apologies for the lack of info regarding your free entries into the draw. For those of you who left contact details on the totally anonymous survey, you have been entered into a draw to win a complete set of Le Creuset in Duck Egg Blue.

Part of my "capsule wardrobe" mission is for all undies to be matching.....am getting there on that one!
I did look in the outlet shop for Le Creuset in Bicester and their prices were very good.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Oooh matching undies! <dreams> I did use to have ONE set! I have a slight, er, issue with being a slightly bizarre bra size (32FF ) so can't just buy cheapish matching sets, and when I've just paid £35 for a bra I can't bring myself to pay another £15 for a pair of knickers to match :rotfl:
HOWEVER, when I'd lost weight and got down to 9 stone, my bra size went down too :T and for a while there I was actually able to (although for some bizarre reason I didn't!). So, as my aim is to get back down to 9 stone (currently 10 stone11 ), and then I can have all matching underwear without going bankrupt :rotfl:
Speaking of which - just off to do Shred day 23 :T (haven't done a day since last Sunday - oops!)
Glad you've had a lovely productive day Hypno - what is this 'oven cleaning' of which you speak??0
