Possibly, P, that would have been the week we went on a "fresh air diet".
CBC - I love Shirley Conran. I remember reading "Lace" when I was about 14. That book was my education :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Re pasta - I saw quite large bags of wholewheat fusilli in B&M Bargains the other day - don't know how much - sorry - but stuff in there is usually very cheap.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

I've never read any of her novels but at the time of writing Superwoman (basically a how-to cope without wearing yourself out book) she was the guru for all harassed working mums. Really must try to find a copy and re-read it. Might seem a bit 'old hat' now though:undecided but was pretty unusual at the time.0 -

Good tips Mrs R- looks shamefully at toilet brush:o Not that anyone uses it other than me in the house.
I'm looking shamefully at mine too... I hate to lower the tone Hypno, but would you mind if I ask Mrs R what she uses instead? I mean to tackle the, er, skid marks.
Sorry! But I'm really curious. And I only use ecover products, so I think there are some marks below the waterline that can only be tackled with a brush...
I'll slink back into lurkdom, now I have brought your thread into disrepute.
Oh, and I'd seriously love a cleaner. I'm so glad you've got the point where you can squeeze one into the budget, brilliant!Debt at highest Nov '06 £17,822.98

Rubber gloves, a disposable cloth and elbow grease is what the answer is likely to be I expect!
I am more than happy that I am going to be having 2 hours of help each week - it really will make a huge difference to me, I'm sure!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Well, Hypno more or less got the answer to the great skid mark question. So, bearing in mind I am only in people's houses once a week, I am happy to use bleach on their marks. I leave it til I'm going, then it's normally gone anyway. If not, I'd don my gloves and use some kitchen roll to wipe. I look away whilst I'm doing it though, I have to say. In my own house I bleach the loo once a week, as I try to be green, so like to limit the bleach. And whilst I would love to say we have no marks ourselves, with 3 DSs...... In which case, it's a squirt of Ecover toilet cleaner on the marks (assuming it's not bleach day...), leave it, then proceed as above. It's not so bad.

Ah LACE my friend and I were also educated by that book although we were slightlty older at the time. We have managed the friendship thick and thin, sick and sin but have not gone for goldfish as pets.
Congratulations to everyone on their exam results etc.
So glad you have got a cleaner at last Hypno I am sure it will be wonderful0 -
lol - def no goldfish in my life either :rotfl:
Weather has been so horrid today - I hope it improves for the weekend, but I hope that it is not too hot for the half marathon on Sunday.
Tonight I have a reflexology client to go and see, so a quick dinner, gather together my stuff, have a quick attempt at the housework as I go (see, Mrs R, I am learning) and then collapse when I get back later this evening. But it is all helpful in cash terms, and it is my fave therapy to do so all good there.
Nothing else to report....hope you have had a good day everyone xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
plus I am thinking about doing another round of "the great declutter". Charity shops of Norfolk be ready.........
Last time you had a declutter it had the effect of motivating me to turf out the junk from my bedrooom and desk. I am not yet ready to be so inspired again...never mind the Charity shops preparing for your decluttering....I need more notice.
Good luck with your run.0
