chev, well done to DSs and hope the throat gets better soon.

The weather continues to be horrid - more rain :( We need some sunshine please!

You only get spoiled by sunshine. You need cold rain and gruel. Make you tough and strong... ;)

I don't want to be tough and strong. I want to be weak and pathetic.

I'm almost there with my meal plan for the month.....ok, some is a little "inventive" such as "beans on toast, followed by pancakes" but hey ho - all in the interests of staying solvent and not starving so am sure we will cope :D I will also be revisiting some meals that I haven't had for ages, like macaroni cheese....yum yum yum.

Last night's chili made an extra couple of portions for the freezer, and I have another portion with the leftover rice to reheat for my lunch today as it is so wintery that sandwiches or salad just isn't going to do it today!

Am also starting to think ahead to the long weekend. I have the half marathon to run on Sunday, so want to make the best of the rest of the time - more painting to be done on Saturday, plus I am thinking about doing another round of "the great declutter". Charity shops of Norfolk be ready.........

    Part of the Furniture
That cleaning list is brilliant - I've got to keep my place spotless for viewings and think 2 hours once a week is excellent (I'm only at home during the weekends).

    Morning Hypno.

I was just thinking about your "inventive" meals and I got to thinking that it is in times when I have had the least money that I have ended up eating some of the best meals. It is good to revisit meals that you haven't had for a while because a bit of variety makes life interesting dont you think. You know I have never made macaroni cheese but it is one of my favourite things to have when I go to the Christmas Markets in Manchester, think that it is just right for the winter nights. Lets face it, it feels like winter at the moment.

Beans on toast is quite nice for a tea sometimes and it's amazing what can be thrown together with a bit of imagination.

Well tonight we are having leftover chicken casserole that I put into the freezer, plus jacket potatoes and yorkshire puds.

    That sounds yummy taxi!

I've spent £8.91 at Tescos at lunchtime on catfood, a birthday card for FiL, bread, chicken, and a couple of other bits and pieces. Nothing that wasn't needed though, and enough to keep us going until I do a proper shop in a few days (am trying to last as long as possible!).
