Hi taxi thanks for letting me know. My memory islike the proverbial sieve at the moment. Hope things are going ok for you too.

i am so getting bored of this cold now, especially as I haven't been able to go swimming this week.

Chev, hope the cold passes soon, and Taxi, hope the ikkiness eases.

I have been to the school uniform shop :eek::eek: Needless to say, the CC had to be used, but it can't be helped, and it obviously can't be put off for much longer. I still have to get him school shoes and trainers, but I can't do that without him being with me, so he will have to meet me one lunchtime next week for that joy!

    Oh the wonders of parenthood!

Peanut butter and jam sandwiches were delish.....being skint is not all bad :D And as payday is still 4 weeks away, I am sure I will be having them again once or twice!

I've been without internet for a couple of days so only just catching up.

And my life now is SO far from Hypno's, though when my 2 were that age, and I hadn't met Popeye I was Hypno certainly (without the running  or the career, I only meant in housework-aversion and running round after everything like a maniac :rotfl:)

10 years on and I'm living in Africa, so my weather is getting warmer :D and my maid (:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: :o) leaves her signature touches each of the TWO DAYS she spends at our (rented) stylish, minimalist home each week :rotfl: She likes cloths/mats under everything for instance, so I have battled to keep the glass topped tables clear of whatever she can find to "enhance" them ;)

I really miss the old life though :o

I am bored actually and spend a lot of time reading on-line papers and MSE.

Once a week I work in an orphanage, and will have a small, but paying book-keeping job in October (working from home). I'm not very good at the ex-pat life, I don't play golf or ride horses or like shopping (broke that habit on my DF-journey :p ) and moaning about my "staff". Although I want to, I don't actually seem to get round to doing the writing I intended to. I'm getting quite good at Sudoku instead.......:o

So I'm even tempted to buy shred while I'm in the UK in September......

Sorry you are a bit bored. That was always why my Mum never went out and joined my Dad long term.....the idea of various "ex pat wives" coffee mornings filled her with horror!

But YES, SHRED is what you need to keep you sane :j

    I've just spent £74 on 2 pairs :o

DD1 wanted Lelli Kelly school shoes (which are plain black and IMHO look a bit flimsy) for £49.99! She is 6......yikes to 16

EDIT: Obviously I didn't buy them! Even in my pre-MSE days that would have been a no-no
