congratulations I bet you are so pleased. Was he very romantic?

Wow lucky about the ski camp, that you found out just in time! Sorry to hear about the car. I would like to say it will be nothing major, but I have a nasty feeling that it might be.

    fingers crossed

I have that feeling too, chev.....we will investigate further and just have to take it from there :(

Quite possibly just had the worst nights sleep I have had for a long time - combination of the heat, the torrential rain outside, and the crap of the car and other stuff all meant that I slept very badly and have got up with a very heavy head - not a good start to a Monday morning!

    Oh well, onwards.......

Sorry to hear about the awful night's sleep. I hope the cleaner will help you to relax at home and sleep better.

Saw this site today and wonder if it might help anyone here - it's borrowing cash at decent rates even if your credit rating is shabby...

Have been to Tesco for some essentials - packed lunch stuff and loo roll.......£8.51 spent there, but seemed to get quite a bit. Brought in cup a soup for lunch, so keeping it low as much as possible.

The garage seem to think that from the description it is brakes that are the problem with my car, but they will have a look at it tomorrow when we will know more.

    Are you off this week?

Brakes can be okish price wise - got new front brakes on van last week and it was £140 - for parts and labour! I would imagine cars are cheaper, but actually I don't know, wishful thinking I guess!

You do like upping the ante in the tightest month of the year don't you eh?! ;)

Sorry to hear about the car - it sounds v. dangerous  fingers crossed it can be salvaged....they always break down when money is at it's scarcest don't they. At least you can get to work without it.

Is it the half marathon next week? I was speaking to a colleague today who is a very good runner (10k's in 36 minutes), he was delighted to inform me that the last 2 miles of the GNR are uphill - great! :o
