  • When I worked as a cleaner, we had 20 minutes to deep clean student rooms so that the universities residential accommodation could be rented out over the summer period. Students are VERY grubby (frankly, some rooms and en suites were disgusting). EVERYTHING was gleaming, beds freshly made up and all had to meet hotel standard - and all were checked. The shared kitchen took more time - cleaning oven, fridge and EVERYTHING there too. It's amazing what you get done in two hours when you're working, so don't have too low expectations.

£16 IS VERY REASONABLE.When I used to having a cleaning business about 10 years ago I was charging £7.50 p/h and it's amazing what can be done in 2 hours...I was fully booked and had a waiting list as well.
DH keeps saying we should get a cleaner and am thinking about it.

Hi all, been away all week and not been able to get online so just caught up! Hypno ACE news on the vouchers, SF congrats and Cocalls that's lovely news.

I've had a good week training and I'm off to Liverpool tomorrow for more. Hotel living is okay but I did miss being able to get on here and find out what was going on. Food is on expenses so that's good on two counts 1. I haven't spent anything much on food this month as I've not been here and 2. I'll get this money back in next months budget which will help for Sept. Anyone near Liverpool?

Taxi, I think that getting a cleaner would be a very good idea for you.....

We have collapsed for a bit - top coat of gloss has gone on all the downstairs doors, inside of the front door, window frames, bannister etc, with the exception of two lengths of skirting which are still tacky from undercoat, so will do those in a bit.

We are absolutely shattered though....so will have quick baths and then go and grab something to eat before coming home and finishing off.

Is a job well done though, and we are very pleased with our efforts.

Souk, glad things are going well.

  • Well I really feel I have achieved something today - caught up on your diary good job you were away for a week:T

A cleaner wow - that definitely means the house must be looking good I would need to clean before the cleaner came :o

    Congrats SF on the engagement.

Cocalls so glad your little one is coming home at last I had 6 weeks in special care with my little twins and it felt like a lifetime so 12 is so long.

No debt busting for me at the moment and waiting to see if I have my remortgage offer when I get home and

Definitely no shredding I am on the squishy sofa my excuse apart from the fact that I am so unfit it would probably kill me is that I have very low ceilings so can't even do the yoga bits on the wiifit:D

But decluttering I can do - so that is my mission when I get home :j

I am sure you will manage this month fine as a reader of all your diaries you have been in tighter spots than this

My evening has not gone according to plan.....

We have been working on the basis that DS is on race camp from Bank holiday monday. Turns out that he is actually going tomorrow, and it was only because his race friends on facebook were messaging him saying "see you tomorrow" that it prompted us to look into it a bit and see that yes, he is expected there tomorrow.

Cue much frantic rearranging of paper rounds, of finding ski kit, finding money to pay for it (double ) etc!

Next, my car is not well. Properly not well, as in something very wrong with it to the point that when we came home from Cafe Rouge, we were gripping on for dear life as it went round corners, as it didn't want to go when I wanted it to go, and seemed to have its own agenda. Not sure if it is brakes locking, or a wheel locking or something, but it is making a very nasty noise and doesn't go as you would expect it to when you turn.

OH had a look at it while I was eating, but can't see what it could be, so that means booking it in to be looked at, and that means more money I don't have right now.

So, feel tired from decorating all weekend, (although v. pleased with result) and now feel very pah about the car.

Hope you have all had a good evening.
