My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »We had this when Benjamin was younger. At first we were 'Come away from the TV mate' all the time but then we had a conversation about whether a) he was doing any harm to the TV (unlikely) and b) whether he was likely to hurt himself (unlikely) - so we decided that it wasn't worth us wasting our voices getting him to stop.
He got over it eventually.
I guess in Tias example he gets lots of adult attention if he keeps going to the TV and gets moved, but gets bored if you leave him to it.
It would depend on the risk as well - if your TV was likely to topple on him then it is definitely worth the effort of moving him!!!
its an old fashioned tv--- before LCD/plasma/widescreen. is heavy but no way of pulling it on himself. thin DH is more worried about his DVDs
i think its best to leave him to it as he will get fed up with it and move on. its clear that when you move him away he just goes staright back, like its a game.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -

Krystal - I saw you mention deck chairs yesterday, I saw in my tesco yesterday they have a set of 2 lovely wooden garden dining type chars for £7.50 they had the same chairs but with a small table too for £50.SM - is the pricer thing on your works website reliable? its says I'd only get about £20 cash £30 store credit for my ds is that right?
I'm pricing up what is best as Chris has messes with it too much and I don't use it so I'm getting rid I think.
My fairies have 2 x 2for1 tickets for Toy Story 3 at a cineworld cinema, valid 31/08 - 28/09 any takers?
And if the tickets are still available, we'd be happy to make use of them
Hubby got a call back for a second interview today... Unfortunately it's for Friday morning when his current Director is in for a site visit and his line manager won't let him take any time off... He has asked if they can arrange it for another day (best for us) or later on Friday afternoon which is fine... But I'll have to cancel my driving lesson... He better get the bloody job now!
And EA, Lily looks lovely, Caitlyn has that outfit tooA very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

It is all a phase and in 6 weeks it will be something different???
Edit - what does he do if you just leave them on the floor?
yep - I'd put money on it htough at least we are all going through itAnnabel will say sorry sometimes and Its usually when my reaction shows its a dangerous situation rather than me just being exasperated. So I think she knows, is starting to test boundaries and generally still littler than we all remember
Christopher Green in his book toddler taming (good book btw) says the first step is to know what normal toddler behaviour is and that its normal for them to exhibit that behaviour by the very fact they are todlers :rotfl:I laughed when I read it, but its amazing how often I step back and think 'actually, thats pretty normal' and I can intervene and get over it quicker:T
I, like everyone else, tend to forget this on a regular basis though! And I was brought up to believe manners and good behaviour is very important and do want A to be the same so may I please join your victorian mummy club?MY BIG GIRL IS 5 TODAY

Happy birthday Abi - sounds like you are doing well Caz.
my ebay listings are turning me into an ebay fanatic! I have to check every few hours and got very excited when bids started to appear! I've decided to keep the money seperate and make sure it all gets re-invested back into bigger sized clothes for A. So no spending on ebay for me.....:Dr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
I need to list on ebay, i have today and tomorrow as free listing days
Im looking to sell my DS aswell, but the place i went to earlier said no as they had to many in stock0 -
Michelle - Thanks for asking hun, he did ok, went down earlier as he was really struggling after the mammoth nap...
He's napped much better today but I've figured out he struggles soothing himself. This morning was really hard post 6am as I was shattered since I did the 3am wake up, and then he wouldnt settle back to sleep but DH brings him into bed with me while he gets up, so he just wakes me constantly from 6am onward till I eventually bring him downstairs. So I've been using his soother to help him calm down from his whinge fests, and help him drift more easily and it has helped....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Mfd, the Nuby facebook group just posted that they've reduced the breastpumps to a fiver... Is that what practical parenting is giving away?
We got a subscription at the baby show and got £20 worth of bowls, spoons and suction pads... Glad I subscribed now I'm pregnant thoughA very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls...
