That's why I like to ask Alice questions to make sure she understands. At one point she thought hot was a synonym for dangerous because all the dangerous things she knew about were hot. I told her not to touch knives at someone's house and she pointed at them and said "hot". She's more likely to overestimate than underestimate risks though: I told her biscuits aren't good for you because they have sugar in them and now she tells me they're dangerous because they have poison in. (Obviously I correct her but she's not convinced.)
