Michelle - Its so damn hard to make a descision do we hold out or take the flat, well we havent seen it yet so we may hate it/love it. Also we arent the only people looking at it and I think they have first choice so we may not get it anyway. It has pro's and cons the cons are its 2nd floor  and no lift and its gonna mean childcare is an issue as we only have the one car and MIL doesnt drive and this place is further away than we are now ( we can both walk to work atm). The pro's are there is a park literally over the road so really handy for dog walking, the park also has a playground and swimming pool :D also the Thames is only a short walk away with a lovely park too. there is a bus stop at end of road and a Tesco too :)

Well better go get us ready to go view this flat, am feeling a lil nervous but I think thats cos its a big decision.

Are you sure youre not looking at a house on our street? :D Well I hope all goes well. XXX
LOL Michelle - I am on the Dukan diet. I think a couple of others on here have started since I started too ;) It is no carb, high protein, low fat so pretty strict but it is working (and I really needed it!). Hubby has been dieting too so it has made it easier.
I spent half of last night looking it up.. mmm think I may jump on the bandwagon after ive finished BFing Ayana. :D
    GCSE Day is here

I haven't read all posts, but are you a teacher? Either that or you have a shed load of year 11 children of your own....but your sig says otherwise :D

Im an English teacher in a huge secondary comp (1600 pupils).. well...

Got my class results and 84% got A*-C!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek: Just to put that in perspective, the national average (meaning all schools inc private, etc) is 60%. :p:D
And just to show off even more... 15 of those students dont have English as their first language at home. Im very proud of them and myself! The rest of the dept averaged around 50-60% :D:D

Congrats pinkp on DD results too.

Well went to look at the flat, as suspected we don't have first choice but will no wether the other family have excepted it in the next 24 hours. Its such a hard choice as we desperatley want to get out of our tiny box of a house, but if we hang on then we could maybe get somewhere better, specially as we appear to be near the top of the list now. The close by parks and other facilities do make it so tempting tho. Oh and T would have a nice big room all for herself.

Well T has a runny nose poor thing, she isnt quite her usual smiley self either, may have to take her temp and adminster something if needed. She is asleep atm so will see how she goes.

Are there only flats in the area you are looking at? We turned down some places because we were looking for somewhere long term and tried to imagine if the place suited Ayana when she was old enough to play out or meet friends.

If youre looking for somewhere long term I would hold out as you may find yourself on the list again in a few years. And like you said, youre near the top now. Thats just based on my own experience though and you might feel differently... if thats the case then just ignore me! :D

    Hope T feels better soon.

    Afternoon all

not been on for a few days as it was DH's rotation off.
Landen has been an absolute pain the past three days. He refuses to nap but is so tired, he's been mega crank! And then as soon as he starts to drift he startles himself awake again and then cries because he's tired. It got too much for me one day and I just burst into tears because nothing i did was helping him, so I was hysterical, DH takes him and he just whimpered for a while instead of the full blown rage he was having with me, which made me feel even worse so I hid in the bathroom for 20 minutes feeling like the worse mumma ever!!

Thankfully however he is napping now, still very lightly though so I dont wanna do too much in fear of waking him, whereas normally when he naps I dont care for the noise i make LOL

It hasnt affected his night sleep so it could be much worse i guess.
Im trying to plan much more of a bedtime routine for him now he's 9 weeks. Any other suggestions? :

    6pm-ish - Feed
6:25 - Quite play time in bedroom
    6:45 - Bath/Wash down
    7:05 - Cuddles with mummy/daddy, soft music
7:15 - Put down in bed

Roughly takes him about 10-15 minutes to fall asleep...
I also wanted to ask about dream feeds as well. He's been pretty much going till half 3/4am, but then he'll wake again at 5/5:30/6am. And I think its because he doesnt go back into a deep sleep after his feed at half 3/4am, and so the light coming into his room stirs him.
We're trying to get a blackout blind sorted but the window is so pigging long, its prooving difficult.

Do you think I should feed him earlier than half 3/4am in the hope that he would sleep through till 6am.... I dont mind getting up early morning but when it's only been an hour and a half from the last time, I feel dead to the world....
I wanted to have it written down so that I've got a hope of DH following it when he's at home.... since he's not with landen every day he doesnt really know what pattern i try to follow....

    Any thoughts greatly appreciated!!!

Well done to PP's DD too. :j

Have we heard from MOTM yet?

CAFC I'm sure your not really the worst Mummy ever, although we all feel like it sometimes. :o
I'd swap round so it was bath first, then feed/cuddles, then bed - but that's just how it worked for us.
I don't really know about the dream feeds, I never bothered and just fed when she wanted it/woke for it! It seems to work for some of our Mummys and not for others. No harm in trying it I suppose for a couple of nights to see what happens?!?

Im def not an expert CAFC but why dont you make his bedtime a little later? Or does he get tired at that time? Then as he gets older you can start putting him bed a little earlier each day, working up to the time you would like him to sleep?

Ayana has spent the past 10 minutes "talking" to the lamp shade. Its not even on. I dont know where she gets it from! lol

i tried doing his bath first and then feed but the way he goes through the afternoon, he's desperate for food at that time, and then i go traumatising him but shoving him in the bath LOL.... if he screams for food much earlier, say at 5, then after his bath I offer him a top up.

I know im not the worst mummy ever (the social haven't been round just yet LOL) but it was just the whole id been trying to hours and then magic hands DH just touches him and he's fine.....

Lily used to 'flirt' with our lampshade. She would look at it and smile and have flirty looks on her face :rotfl:

CAFC, i know Kindof dream feeds and has been quite successful with it. We never have been able to do it.

I felt like you did sometimes to, Lily aways was much better behaved with DH. Maybe L can sense your stressed?

i was trying for 8pm putting him to sleep but he was getting over tired, so we swapped it round and he goes down fine etc at that time, its more the very early morning drama thats getting me exhausted!

week on week I was going to aim to push it on another 15 minutes till his bedtime is actually 8pm, but at the mo he's doing alright so im loathed to do anything that might upset it....so hopefully by 12 weeks he'll be put down at 8pm....if that makes sense....

although should he then be going to bed earlier as he gets older?
I'm so confused by it all LOL :rotfl:

Normally he's fine wit whoever, he'd fall asleep on the milkman he's that chilled....

I think I was just a little bit smarted by the rejection :p but you're right, he was aggro, i was aggro,I'm sure he could tell.....
