    2 pages....albeit with very narrow margins :rotfl::rotfl:

It is a different format to a usual CV, more skills based. I think it is interesting, PM me your email address if you want me to send you a copy (I think I have foisted it on half of the PT before!)

My assistant has used the same format and she is getting positive feedback from it.

Thank you very much, mine is skills based too as I don't really have many qualifications apart from good GCSE's and a BTEC ND In Public Services
I'll PM you tomorrow if that's OK. I need to empty my PM box but going to bed now :o
Mine is:- P1 - contact, profile, last job, referees; P2 - past jobs, quals & training. Easier for me as last job was 10 years, so worth putting most emphasis on that.

I was Page 1 Contact, profile, achievements, then Page 2 - Career Progression, Page 3 Education/Training & References.
Have extended margins ;) and removed achievements as discussed in Career bit anyway. Now Down to Pages but references is on a 3rd page :(
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?

Em - Katie has been getting her hair trimmed since about 18 months, the hairdresser comes to us :)

She now enjoys it so much she climbs up on the chair to take her turn and sits like a statue, either my mum or me hold her head still when her fringe is being trimmed just so it's straight.
Proud to be dealing with my debts

I don't have contact details or references on mine  I put those on a covering letter!!

I have personal statement; Skills profile split into different sections such as team working, IT skills and stress management; Education and qualifications then Job history - each with a brief desc of role and key acheivements.

Do you need to give the referee details on a CV? Or could you simply put a one-liner of "References (or Referees details) available on request". Surely any prospective employer would be contacting you before contacting your referees anyway? Just a thought.

No response at all Beenie? Did it go to someone not just the HO who let you down in the first place?

We had E's first proper hairdressing just before he turned 2 - before that we let it grow long and just trimmed it out of his eyes now and again. We went to a 'baby hairdresser' in a kid's clothes and toys shop, and they had an aquarium for the little ones to watch fishes while being cut, worked very well :)

GISi, I thought the point people were making was basically, "so what if he eats less food, at his age".

Susan, yay :D I am very pleased for you!

Never ever write a CV more than 2 pages unless there is a particular and specific reason from the recipient to want it. Customise your CV a bit for every different target. Think hard about what you're putting in the first half of the first page. Don't waffle on about jobs before your current one unless they're really relevant. Have a fresh pair of eyes look at it and tell you what they think of it.
Edit: agree with the others, take references out of the CV, and possibly take contact out too (or turn it into one line in the header "Glamazon Lovely, email xxxx, phone yyyyy").

Shopping budget is around 90-100/week for 3 of us, but including nappies etc (and alcohol :o), but not my work lunches. I'd like it to be less. That's the big supermarket shop but there are small top-ups too (more milk etc) sigh.

There were some more things but by failing to multiquote as I went, I have forgotten them all :(

Thanks for comments re my morning rant. FWIW, tonight he only needed re-settling 3 times and went down finally 15 mins earlier than usual. Small progress but I'll take it :) I think it's more due to an unusual post-nap lengthy park visit for a friend's engagement celebration, than anything I did differently though.

After said park visit and bus ride home, OH was very worn and in lots of pelvis pain - went for a lie down around 7, and despite 3 attempts after that I couldn't get her back up again for food or anything :/ so she slumbers, and will no doubt get up soon then stay up til 3 again!

Glam last time I was doing my CV I read that you shouldn't put references on it. They shouldn't be contacted during the initial stage anyway. You could always put a line at the bottom "Work and / or personal references on request" or something. ETA you all beat me to it!

EmLou get the scissors and bowl out!! :rotfl: Just kidding, I wouldn't dare cut Alfie's hair!

2 batches of cakes cooling. If only I could be bothered to go decorate them. I really should though, half need delivering at 11am. I want my bed though.

Millie's Mum I was just thinking about you. I was wondering if you fancied doing somehting tomorrow night as I am baby-free, and you have OH to stay with yours, but then I figured you haven't seen him for a week so maybe you' prefer to do that!
  • That makes sense, Bruno, thank you! Any I totally agree that Kian is undoubtedly thriving Jillie you have no need to worry. He is an absolute stunner!

Also a reduction to three re-settles sounds like progress indeed to me.....and I am ridiculously envious that you did them all while your OH slept, as that would never, ever happen in this house.

Nor this house. After this morning I decided that any wake ups after 5.30am-ish I won't feed him unless absolutely necessary which means that DH can get up and settle Alfie instead. This is great in principle, but in practice a) Alfie doesn't settle as well for daddy as he does mummy b) DH doesn't hear Alfie so I'll have to wake him and ask him to get up c) I'll be awake listening to what DH does (wrong :o) anyway so probably won't even get any more sleep and d) I'll feel guilty asking DH to get up when he has to work that night and I'll worry about him being too tired when driving home from work

So all in all it's still going to be me getting up isn't it?! :(

Ah, I'm liking the idea of a mobile hairdresser MDW!!

How long does a wee hair cut usually take? Do I need to make an appointment if I take him somewhere?

    Jeebus, I'm so useless :rotfl:

I'm just going to nip into the barbers without an appointment. Wouldn't of thought it would take that long
