Fed up Fed up Fed up looks like OH is working at Heathrow for the foreseeable, which means another 6wk holiday without him being around at all.
My Baby can reach the fruit bowl, i keep finding abandoned half eaten apples and apricots all over the house yuk.
Tara as long as you and DH had a fabulous day then it doesn't really matter that MIL did not enjoy herself, it sound like she had already decided she wasn't going to enjoy it before she even got there. That said it was very rude to go to the chippy before the reception and saying Ben didn't have to be in the pics was a bit off, good job you had a great friend there to intervene!MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -

afternoon all
quick bit of advice needed re baby bathing....
still recovering from c section and finding it a bit tough, think my body is immune to painkillers...
Anyway question is whether anyone has any recommendations for bath supports to make bathing Landen a bit easier for me. Im quite small and he's now packing on the lbs and ounces so i struggle being able to support his weight with my one arm, and using the other to wash him. I know I still need to keep my hand there to support him even with a support but i kinda need something to help take the weight of my little faat bundle off my arm, plus im thinking it will mean i wont be bent over so much.....
im really struggling and feeling bad about it...Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

I didn't bath Benjamin at all until he was about 6 weeks old! And then it was only once a week at most for ages - can you get OH to help for now?
Can't recommend a bath support sorry. As soon as he was big enough we just stuck him in with us!
Edit I did wash him, just didn't bathe him!
Edit - I did stick the baby bath on the table when we used it though.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Hi CAFC! Hope all is well.. this is probably the first time where ive actually had time to read up on the site and post something since little Ayana was born!
I have got the Mamas and Papas two stage ergo bath http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0982881/Trail/searchtext%3EMAMAS+BATH%5D.htm and it is brilliant. I use a little flannel to rest her head on but apart from that, it supports her whole body brilliantly. She can kick her legs about and splash around and I can wash her properly!HTH
Anyway, hello everyone, very new mum here, my daughter will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. Still not in any routine at all so come to ask a question about Breast Feeding- will she ever wait longer than 2 hours for a feed at night?!I know all babies are different but I would like to know other people's experiences to save my sanity! I am lucky in that she can bottle feed on formula too when I feel like she has sucked the life out of me (tends to be in the run up to bed- around 11/10pm for her at the moment). So any tips or advice would be appreciated!
Oh, and another question... Ive noticed that she likes to sleep on her side and will even turn herself towards the 'wall' of her moses basket (I think this is because she feeds in this position), should I keep putting her on her back (like the docs say) or should I leave her?First baby born 10/06/10:heartpuls 6lb 10z:heartpulsI love my little family0 -

Why is his weight on your arm?
Put his bum (and therefore weight) on the bottom of the bath.. and his head supported by your wrist and hold the top of his arm furthest from you.. you only need to keep his head from being under the water the rest of him can slither about!
Mine were first bathed at about 2-3 weeks old.. and I bathed them when they got sticky! .. so maybe once a month or so.. they never had cradle cap or anything else gross.. and never once complained..
Can you raise the bath? Put it on the worksurface or the kitchen table or have dad bath him instead!!!!! Dad did a LOT of baths in our house!! He bathed I dried and dressed because i could do it quicker and so they didn't get cold.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
CAFC, just bath him in the kitchen sink, loads easier, and they don't float all over the place lol.
Otherwise, you can get those ergonomic things from Mothercare. I had the same problem but stuck it out or used the sink.0 -

Of course she will.. but breast milk is absorbed so exceedingly well she needs feeding some more after a couple of hours.. going 2 hours between feeds is good going..
Cluster feeding at bed time is necessary so she can go a little bit longer..
Tips from me... keep feeding her.. pop her in your bed and feed her in there so you get some rest and enjoy it.. she is very tiny and it won't last forever.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
