does anyone have one of these backpack carriers and what do i need to look out for in a good one? we have started taking the kids out at night to help tire Charlie out, it seems to be working but we have a lazy baby Erin who will not walk lol!

and has anyone evert made sour dough and/or do you have a good link for a site or info on making it and then bread? i watched something on tv and would really like to give it a go?

No coupon in the Asda one here However for the sake of 1cm i very much doubt you'll need one tbh. I'm not putting mine up yet so can't be sure if i even need an extension, just assumed i will

the websites all say upto 82cm and then the actual measurements are 81cm lol!! DH going after work so will find out then, have to take the extendable one that you fix to the wall back to asda as well.

talk about red-heads being angry...Kian gets frustrated sooo easy especially when he wants to get something and its just out of reach. i'm having squeals as he cant get up the stairs as i have moved the buggy and the couch (stupid planning of stairs) so he cant get up them! LAZY LAZY DH wouldnt go to asda last night to change the gates

ooh according to the amazon website you get a coupon to get the extension free (pay P&p) can anyone confirm this is the case with the asda one?

There is a form in the instruction booklet to fill in and send off, the extension bits are about 5cm IIRC though so not sure how it would work for you with only 1cm diff

We have the screw into the wall gate and I like it, I don't see the holes as a problem, just whack a bit of filler in them once you remove the gate and a lick of paint and no one is the wiser (and by the time that comes you would prob be thinking of decorating/touching up paintwork anyway so its not an extra job )
My mum has the pressure fit gate and the rubber bit managed to weld itself to her wall and pulled of a patch of wallpaper when she took it down so its not much difference to haveing a screw hole anyway

Elle has a rucksack carrier thing for Rhys but I'm not sure if it would be big enough for Erin...

I think Susan does sour dough though, I'm sure she'll be along with fabby info soon

caz - sorry, forgot! Got one of these (from ebay, yay!) http://www.webtogs.co.uk/Vaude_Swing_100945-9374.html?utm_source=GoogleBase&utm_campaign=GoogleBase&utm_medium=pricecomp&utm_term=Swing and it's brilliant, the main thing we needed was a variable back so me and OH could both use it comfortably. Used it on the tube (in rush hour, oops!) for the first time last week and it was sooooooooooo much easier than the pushchair and T loved being able to look around and he even got a few miserable commuters to crack a smile! The little bag attached to the frame was perfect for a day out worth of stuff.

Can I ask some advice please?
Up until recently Freddie has been consistently getting better at sleeping at night (with the odd exceptional night), but for the last three nights he's been dreadful and kept waking up after 2pm, so he's not getting much sleep. I thought it might be down to him having shown signs of teething for a couple of weeks now, but Dan pointed out this morning that it coincides with the time we started introducing baby rice - 3 days ago. Now I'm not sure if it's coincidence or if he's possibly suffering from indigeston. Did anyone else find this happening after they started weaning their baby and if so, how long did it last? And did you persist or stop for a while?

thanks sami--DH is thinking further ahead and reasons that when Kian is older it would be easier to move the gate upstairs for nightime and then downstairs for daytime when we are here. Rather than having to buy 2 lots!

if i had the ability to go back in time i soooo would not have bought this house. i do love it but with Kian its made me realise how impractical the layout of the front door opening into the sitting room with the stairs right in the sitting room is.

red - you could always try a day or two off the weaning, he's still very little so will be getting all his actual nutrients from milk, and see if that helps? If T has his tea much past 6pm (he tends to be in bed by half 7) he does seem to take longer to settle and he's nearly 8 months.

Thanks Always - I think I am going to try and give the weaning a break, it can't hurt and hopefully he'll sleep a bit better tonight.

I think you can get spare fixings, if so it would actually be easier to move the wall fixed gate, assuming the fixing is still the same as when we got ours you just slide a clip off the wall bit and lift the gate off, much quicker than un screwing and re tightening the pressure one

Just wondering when you measured it what did you actually measure, did you include the fixings, they might add the missing 1cm if not

redstar - IMO you should stop, I won't say much more because I'm lacking in sleep so haven't got the brain power to word my reasoning without it no doubt starting a heated debate on here
