Glam, do you need to do invites? In that situation I've always just phoned people and said "we're going here, it would be great if you could join us... MFD I would be annoyed too - did they think you'd stopped playing or were they just being obnoxious?
Molly's been a horror all day, constant whinging to be picked up, but as soon as she's picked up she slides down onto the floor and then whinges because she's on the floor. No interest in playing with either of us, refusing to go to sleep (about 20 minutes sleep all day ) and won't play with us/with her toys/with us with her toys. Won't be carried around while I do other stuff, it's been about three hours straight of Waaaah *up* slither *down* waaaaaah *up*.
Steak pie and chips for dinner. Nomnomnom. Oh, excuse me. Waaaaaah *up*Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Thanks all for good wishes for OH today
sorry I've not been on all day, last barbecue guests only left a few minutes ago.
OH felt basically fine ("just a bit weak") this morning so no A&E for us. Instead spent morning in increasing flurry of pre-bbq activity - hampered by, early on in proceedings, cutting finger very deeply while slicing limes... bled for about 15 mins while I pressed ice cubes to it etc, reopened twice over the next couple hourswhen I first cut it I kind of leapt back from the chopping board and flung my hands up in horror, now there is this blood spray pattern across the kitchen ceiling
Then I scrubbed floors, made guacamole, potato salad, corncob marinades, and an awesome and huge chocolate cake filled with whipped cream, raspberries and strawberries(from a cake mix, there are limits on a day like today). We had about 15 people over, including 4 other little children under 3, ate much barbecued meat, and E's best present is a very proper chalkboard which he is very pleased with! Unfortunately the rain kicked in after about 2.5 hours, and trying to squeeze everyone into small flat was hard, but it didn't ruin things.
Elijah was absolutely wildly excited for 2 hours, then just passed out from exhaustion - he actually slept in his cot for 2 hours despite 18 month old screaming fits right outside his door and the like
Poor OH managed very well throughout but as soon as the last left was shouting "Oh god I NEED a butt massage help me I can't stand up any more" she has rather overdone it posturally!
Lovely baby pics CAFC and Glam this morninghope everyone else has had a nice day!

Well...................................... I can't be bothered to speak to OH's lot
Sami - That is fab! I will deffo use that!
Oh, Chris is sooooooooooooooooooooooo cute! Love the way he runs off at the end!
MFD - I can sympathise. OH & BIL are playing COD on the PS3, OH asked me a question and then didn't even notice that half way thru the answer I stopped talking because he wasn't listening. He then moans at me to 'watch Jack' and cook food while they play!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Evening all. I've got left behind again. We've been swapping some of our bedroom furniture with some bits that used to be my Granny's and have managed to fit in a few extra bits, so there has been a great deal of sorting-out going on. I managed to get DH to part with some tatty bits into the bin, and some more stuff into a charity shop bag, and I'm now been ruthless and realistic with my stuff. I did get rid of most of my "clubbing" stuff, but had kept a few bits. I've still kept one or two things, but I want to clear some space to get some smartish clothes that I can wear for going out to dinner/parties/weddings, then on the rare occasions I do go to clubs/gigs (I'm hoping I can at least go to the occasional gig once she is big enough to stay with granny and grandad over night, but realistically it would only be a couple of times a year) I can wear them for that too
Still loads to sort through if I want to go to bed tonight, but it might have to wait till this little one is in bed.
I hope everyone else is having a good saturday. Will read back in a bit!Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

MFD that's awful. I wonder what would happen if you made your own dinner but "forgot" theirs as they are too busy playing?!
Glam honestly I don't know how you put up with it. I want to kick your OH and BIL sometimes so no idea how you feel (and manage not to become violent!)
Sounds like a fun afternoon Bruno, glad OH is feeling better, if now exhausted.
Good news here, I managed to get the bathroom (almost) done before Alfie woke up AND my dad managed to send the pic! So it can now be seen <link removed> . I'm so proud of my little boy0 -
I think they had just forgotten that I was even here SS - stupid thoughtless boys
I have told them both that leaving people out is downright nasty and they ought to know better.
Hubby and I are out tonight so words will no doubt be had.
Glam - you need some rules - if you are cooking OH should look after Jack, this is one thing I will not compromise on.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Ooh, your BBQ sounds amazing Bruno!
I like the idea of sending your invite from Jack, Glam! I might steal that for H's birthday.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Lord, it is absolutely hammering it down here now... lucky we went for a lunchtime barbecue! Thanks, it was good I think
OH now prostrate in bed moaning (can you take ibruprofen in pregnancy? No without doc recommendation I think?), while I feebly tidy up inside and get E his supper - the garden will have to wait until it stops bucketing though, this is hardcore rain!
