Excellent SJ, I hope they're insanely comfortable all day.
I wish I'd known your topping secret on Wednesday - it would have saved a massive fight and an extraordinarily ugly cake :rotfl:
Aww you should have asked! And they were so comfy for the few minutes I think they'll be just great. My other IC shoes are all a great fit and comfy too so fingers crossed these'll be the same.My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »
I made chicken soup and it tastes really nothing-y despite being made with real stock (homemade yesterday and having at least 2 breasts of chicken in it. Any ideas?
Everyone else beat me to it but you needed to use bones rather than meat, then for soup add the meat near the end otherwise it loses its flavour but doesn't really flavour the soup (not sure why not but it just doesn't!) And use veg when the carcass is boiling. Onion, carrot and celery are good. Also a bay leaf or 2 and a few peppercorns are a good idea.
I have put some new pics on FB <link removed> Second lot are food based pics. I'll set so everyone can see just now but will change them to friends only later. (Although feel free to add me if you haven't already. I don't like just anyone being able to see my pics.)
So Alfie is having his first daytime nap in his cot and all is well. I really should have done something productive while he was up there like clean my gross bathroom but instead I've uploaded pics and caught up on here. Oops0 -

OMG Those pics are amazing SJ! I really thought Alfie looked like you but now I've seen Daddy he's just like him too!
Loving the second lot as well - he has eaten loads!
EA - Yay for Jumperoo! Mine is waiting to be packed away ready for the next one
Just set my new microwave up - it's fab!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
The max weight is 25lbs, did any of yours over 25lbs go in it at all?
I intend to use it for both babies too, i still think £41 is a lot of money. especially when rent is due soon0 -

Thanks Glam
If I ever get my scanner working again I'll scan in a pic of me at the same age, looks like the same baby like MFD and Benjamin's pics from the other day.
He has eaten loads! His favourites are steak and Yorkshire pudding! Hasn't turned his nose up at anything yet and he's had all sorts.
ETA just phoned my dad to ask him to email the pic of Alfie eating the steak actually as that was fab. Just need to see if he can manage to send an attachment now, I'm not convinced he will!
Right I am going to go see fi i can do my bathroom before Alfie wakes up.0 -

WM - Honestly? I wasn't going to get him anything
He has soooooooooooo many toys its stupid. We just gave him the Ride on Car and he loves it but Il's bought that.
Does this sound a bit wordy?
As Jack has many toys, instead of giving him presents, we would your company in joining us for a meal to celebrate his birthday. There is a range of meals to suit different budgets and there is the option to eat outside weather permitting.
Sami - I didn't get chance to catch up the other day so I'll have a look now.
is it too late to make the invites as if they are coming from Jack?
Something like
Dear Gma/Aunty/whomever
Mummy and Daddy are taking me out for lunch to celebrate my first birthday, as I already have lots of lovely toys I would love it if instead of presents I could enjoy your presence at 'pub' on 'date'. Dress code: bibs optional
Please can you let Mummy know if you are coming so she can make sure the pub have room for us.
Lots of Love Jack Jack xxxxx
I've put the vid of youtube just waiting for it to be available0 -
Sorry guys I didn't explain myself! I made stock yesterday with a carcass from a chicken I had slow cooked...although I didn't put the skin in because I am low-fatting!
I added carrots and onions and celery and then blended with some chicken pieces and salt and pepper.MFD You need chicken carcass for stock - bones and skin and manky bits.......it's worth it though.
C's in her own room if not tonight then tomorrow. I've been feeding her and then putting her down awake for a week now and it's not been too bad but wish me luck!
Good luck.MFD did you use any veg? It needs some onion and carrot for flavour. Chuck in a veg stock cube if you have it or fry some grated onion and carrot and a tiny bit of garlic then add it in?
Might try adding some garlic to the stuff I have left over, ta.Sarah_Joanne wrote: »Everyone else beat me to it but you needed to use bones rather than meat, then for soup add the meat near the end otherwise it loses its flavour but doesn't really flavour the soup (not sure why not but it just doesn't!) Will add a bayleaf or 2 too. Thanks.
I have had a mega-strop this afternoon. When Benjamin was in the bed I suggested that we play on the Wii Fit...we all 'weighed in' and then when DSS and hubby did a few games I was pottering, tidying and stuff but still around and nobody bothered to give me a go. When I asked if I had missed my turn hubby ignored me to start with and then waffled on about me 'being busy' so I kicked off
I am just p1ssed off that I seem to spend my whole weekend running around making sure the family are happy and then they can't even be bothered to let me join in the game...and to be forgotten (which is basically what happened) is just an effing insult.
Ooops - it would appear that I am still quite angry :rotfl:please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120
