SJ - we went to a fabric shop and bought a meter of floral pvc (they sell it for that kind of thing, honest!). I was tempted to buy more and make an ironic frock with it. I don't know if that would work out more expensive than just buying a mat though - I think it was about £5 a meter.

SJ - Morrisons do them - hung up in the baby aisle if I remember correctly - but TBH I found all the wiping really tedious and most of the time the mat was still sticky.

I used a king size duvet cover which I folded into quarters and put under the antilop. It meant that I could pick things up if he dropped them but also meant that I could shake it outside for the birds when he was done and fold it a different way if it was dirty. Then every so often I stuck it in the washing machine

A friend of mine used big square table cloths which she stuck in the wash each day.

I think Susan used an oilskin tablecloth.

SJ - I bought some of that waterproof table cloth on a roll from the range to put down for painting/messy play etc then it just folds up small out of the way - I think it was £2 ish. Love your new Fb pics he looks like hes loving his food

Thanks very much ladies. I actually have loads of bedding that doesn't fit our bed after upsizing so I might just do that.

We've been shoe shopping this afternoon. Rhys is a whopping 2F We have crawlers as Clarks don't do even cruisers in a size 2. Not quite sure what we're going to do when he's actually walking... Clarks smallest walkers are a size 3 and I'm not convinced he's going to have grown that big by the time he's walking! :cool:

Ah, I suppose I'm fortunate enough that most of Hubby's family can't be bothered and those that do care, he would be happy to talk to...

I know what you mean about being ignored though, i often feel like I'm talking to myself because D is incapable of acknowledging that I have spoken whether he hears me or not...

SJ, Mfd used to use a duvet cover folded into quarters... You can get a couple of uses out of it and it gets shoved into the washing machine when it needs a wash...

I used plastic on the floor with Aimee and just found food ended up underneath so I needed to clean the plastic and also the floor...

Edit: she beat me to it lol...

Elle, I have that problem with Caitlyn, she's a diddy 2 1/2... I've bought her some little converse from eBay and some little pumps from Next that are a 3 but she seems to cope OK in them... In all honesty though I only put shoes on her if she's going to be walking outside so it doesn't really matter...

Thanks though. I love this thread, there's always someone (or plenty of people) that have found out what works and what doesn't to save me the hassle of finding out myself :rotfl:

Yeah, he won't get that much use out of them, it's just more for when we're on holiday in a few weeks and will be outside/picnic-ing (well, maybe - we are going to South Wales! :cool:) a bit so I wanted him to have something with a thicker sole on than his fabric bottom pram shoes

SJ- my mum suggested using a duvet cover under the highchair, but I picked up a plastic sheet in the 99p shop and use that when I remember!

Kindof- was there a particular reason you wanted a new car seat or just fancied a change? H has just gone into his new one today and I must admit I do like only have to clip him in, not clip the seat into the car every time too.

We're hoping to pick up on of these tomorrow
