errrr, I don't understand those mesh feeders? If a baby can put the food into its mouth then why on earth would it choke? The fact that a lot of people do BLW these days kinda proves that choking isn't as much a hazard as we 'think' it is? I'm honestly confused, not trying to be anti-purees or snobby or anything. :o Unless someone can tell me why they're useful, I'm inclined to think it's all marketing ploy to make us buy more stuff our babies don't actually need...

I think perhaps with slippery things like banana it probably helps them keep a grip on it. And you probably don't have to give them a giant piece of food and therefore waste loads in order for them to be able to hold it.

does feeding a baby purees make it more likely to choke? That seems backwards! If i stuck my fingers down my throat, i'd choke too...pieces of food are quite different! I think people confuse choking with gagging, too. Though i am no expert. :)

Susan, your use makes sense. It was the product description that confused me. We do get a lot of wastage in order to get pieces big enough for him to be able to grab. Can't wait for pincer grip!

Lol maybe it's good i don't browse around baby stuff too much as there's just so much out there i get confused. I prefer simplicity! :)

No - I didn't say anything at the time because she said it as she was leaving the room, I was so shocked and I was concentrating on paying close attention to what she was doing/saying wrt the noise test and didn't want to create a big distraction in the middle of it.

No I don't think i would probably have said anything at the time either, shame though.

If anyone going 2mo wants a mesh feeder thing shout up and i'll dig one out, I didn't bother with it so its still sealed in the pack but i'm too lazy to post it to someone :p

oh an EA I think I know why your 'friend' always comments on your fb statuses, I think she's got txt updates on

Hmm, maybe. I hate text updates, when my sister is here her phone is always going off due to fb.
