My friend did that with the OJ, must be the unconcentrated one though. Just 2ml in a syringe should do the trick.
Fitzio - FWIW, I don't think anyone was saying you were a holier than thou Mother. Becles made a good point that there are a few extremists on the main thread that would say she was for giving C McD's every now and then.
I'm not too fussed about watching what I cook for Jack, he had scrambled egg for lunch with us and I popped a bit of Salt in it out of habit. He also pinched some of BIL's toast which has Brown Sauce on and had beans with it- the amount in that one meal is small and its a once a week thing.
Jack can quite often be seen with a chip in his hand if we go somewhere for a meal but I don't think that makes me a bad mummy just a mummy who would like a meal in peaceA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
We are quite naughty with salt here - I don't add it to anything I cook, but I do let Izzy eat cheesy crackers, marmite on toast, cheese, olives, salty vegetarian sausages, pesto and (occasionally) garlic bread, which are all salty in themselves. No idea how much she has in a day, but so long as she has a varied diet I'm not too fussed. I know that she has a healthy diet in all other respects
I wouldn't take Izzy into Macdonalds, but only because I'd never take ME there either. (I've not been in one since I was a teenager except to use their loo!) I wouldn't mind her going there if someone was having a birthday party there or something, just that she eats what/where i do iyswim. (edited to add that this doesn't mean she misses out on her fair share of chips for a treat, it is just cheesy chips in a pub instead, but she has to fight me for them)
Mel, poor little oneI hope the oj/sugard water helps soon! I think you can give lactulose to babies too, but I wouldn't do that without a doctors sayso, and I don't think they count as constipated as far as the doctor is concerned unless it is over a week.

I never called anyone on here and I'm sad people think I would do that. I wish I hadn't said anything now
I meant people on the main board who've attacked me before for doing awful crimes such as doing part formula and part breast milk feeding, weaning at 5 months, putting Charlotte in her own room, and letting her sleep on her tummy when she refused to sleep on her back and kept tuning herself over. Here I go again on my own....0 -

Thanks, I know no-one said I was holier than thou. I just wanted to clarify that I wasn't, since it was my post that prompted the discussion and lots of people to start posting about how they are lax and do this, that and the other. I can see the discussion ending up with people getting defensive about the bad things they feed their children, and I want to ensure that everyone knows I am totally non-judgemental and they can do whatever they want!!
Tara - Holly had some grapes tonight for the first time - quartered. I gave her a few the other day, but after being in her mouth for about 5 mins they would pop back out! She seemed to enjoy them tonight.
Cross posted with you Becles. I never said you suggested I was. I was just clarifying that I wasn't like that! :-)0 -
I do quarter them at home, but she loves strawberries, gets so excited she starts dribbling before they get to her mouth, well that and chocolate buttons.Too many children, too little time!!!0

I bought Caitlyn a happy meal once because I'd taken Aimee in there and thought she'd sleep through it... She didn't...
I unashamedly sucked all the salt off her fries though... And she only ate the bread from around the burger... Next time I'll get her fish fingers...
Tonight she had potato skins, a chicken strip and a piece of garlic bread for tea... But yesterday she had home made from scratch aubergine pasta... Tomorrow beef stew...
Everything in moderation and all that...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

How long will it take the sugar water to work? I have visions of being up at 3 in the morning with a poopsplosion!!!
Also at what age is it 'safe' to give grapes whole!! I have been chopping them for K but the last few times I have given him them whole, I am assuming that as he has quite a lot of teeth now (inc molars) he is ok....Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
