Well done Kai!
And yay for first tooth David! Sorry, I forgot to comment on that earlier - thanks for the reminder GISI!
Holly is staying overnight with MIL tomorrow night. I am currently cooking some food for her as my stock of Holly's food is depleted at the moment. I think I am overthinking the whole "no salt" thing though and making life harder than it needs to be. I am making her AK recipes which is fine, but sometimes it would be good for her to eat what we are having. Some things aren't suitable like stir frys, but other things should be. But if there is the hint of salt in something shop bought, I get confused! I haven't given her any gammon type meat, as I think that's processed foods and I shouldn't feed her it. Think I need to relax it a bit. To be fair, the amount she eats it so small, it probably wouldn't matter. Musing out loud as usual.
ETA - Holly just this second started cruising!!0 -
Clever Holly!
Bit of an update on Ben's school situation, his teacher took his latest piece of literacy work to show the Head who was surprised at his progress and told him how proud she was. So she is having a rethink and I may not need to challenge her as he may automatically go up a class. And he got a 2c, 2b and 2a for his Sats so I'm very chuffed, thanks for your advice everyone. XToo many children, too little time!!!0 -

Ooh, are you going anywhere nice tomorrow night Fitz, or just hoping to enjoy a good night's sleep?
On the salt question I am probably a bit of a lax mummy since I don't mind Henry having things like baked beans and pesto as long as it's not at every meal. I do use low salt bouillion instead of stock cubes in my cooking and don't add salt to anything so i figure that a little bit in some processed things will be okay.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
I'm with you on the salt thing GISI, they are supposed to have some but I never add it when cooking but as she eats with us if we have a jar of pour over sauce for chicken or something I know it's in there.Too many children, too little time!!!0

It was your mention of baked beans that made me post. We had toast and beans with cheese for lunch and I gave Holly a couple of spoons of mine. And I was discussing with hubby that I knew there was salt in them but I didn't know where to draw the line and I think I need to lighten up. I gave her some toast with tuna mayo yesterday which she loved and a peach sliced up. Then she was violently sick everywhere which has never happened before. I just get a bit stuck for ideas, but think it's because I am being overcautious.
I am currently making her cauliflower/broccoli cheese and lentils with veg. I know she likes these so it should be easier for MIL to feed her if it's things I know she likes.
We are staying overnight at the hotel we got married in and going to Jamie's Italian for dinner GISI. It's just opened this week I think. It's my birthday treat so looking forward to it.
That's good news about Ben, Tara. If you can avoid a confrontation then that would be brilliant!0 -
Hotel looks lovely, very posh! XToo many children, too little time!!!0

See you Tuesday then 3
I will get some biccies in for [STRIKE]a cuppa[/STRIKE] the kids;)
I must be super lax mummy then, All my kids eat the same thing and 95% of the time that will be exactly what me and dh are eating, I don't use low salt anything, but don't add salt! K sometimes even has beans and sausage in tin, with toast, if we are having curry/stir fry etc. because as much as I have tried to get him to eat these things he just refuses..... He has even had mcdonalds/kfc a few times, if that's what we've been having.
Has anyone got any tips other than cooled boiled water to ease baby constipation? I have always just given water to the boys and that has usually worked but T hasn't been for 2 days now, despite having some water each day......I keep seeing her straining as if trying to go, but nothing!
xxUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
Mel - the HV told ME to eat grapes to ease constipation in a BF little one. Other than that tummy massages helped. And nappy free time (I got some disposable changing mats, and let her lie on there).
