Wow this is a fast moving thread - hi everyone just a quick question my 4 week old seems to be suffering with a lot of wind over the last couple of days she is bf. Everytime she wakes with a wind pain she wants to feed but I feel like I'm running on empty by the evening should I top up with a formula feed? I know there are no definate answers just want to hear other peoples opinions. Thanks

Try a dose of infacol before feeds!

And no, formula tops ups are not needed.. she is obviously getting plenty and it is quite normal to be feeling empty on an evening.. esp. if she is comfort feeding due to pain... this increases the amount of foremilk she is getting and the amount of wind she is taking in.

Try massaging her tummy when she is full of wind rather than feeding her.. see if you can shift some wind first. Or if she wakes windy.. try the tummy massage and maybe offer a dummy to suck..

She will also be coming up to growth spurt time and you will feel REALLY empty then!!

Breastmilk is made on a demand and supply basis.. baby demands you supply.. so it is just about impossible to run out... without further issues.

cluster feeding late evening is VERY normal and means she may sleep an extra hour between feeds if you are lucky (I never was) which leaves you feeling very empty too. Is it possible this is what she is doing as well?

So we are trying a new routine tonight, adding in a story before bed. I suggested DH do it and that's what he's upstairs doing now, but I'm now thinking maybe I should have done the first couple to ease him into it a bit more. Hmmm, we will see how this goes.

I keep meaning to say something on here today and then I keep forgetting again. My grandma would say that this means it's a lie!

    Has anyone seen this? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/merseyside/10614155.stm

How awful for those little girls! :(
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

How do you get a sale slot?

I appear to have gained a Next account (through no effort of my own) do I get a slot automatically or do I have to apply or what?

Cant remember anything else sorry, had an awful day yesterday with yet another meltdown from me. Nothing would go right and I just couldnt function in the end, had a stinkin headache and was crying so much I couldnt see :(

bad awful mummy confession and I feel so rotten but T rolled off the sofa this morning! :( Have never been so grateful to have a very thick rug. She had a little cry and am keeping a very close eye on her but she is her normal happy self. Am feeling really bad tho and yet more tears when i had to tell OH what happened. My back was turned literally a few seconds, am so never putting hr on the soffa again.

I hope you feel better now Som. * HUGS*. D crawled off the sofa just minutes before we were leaving for the airport back in May - it didn't knock any sense in to him :rotfl: . It didn't teach him anything either as he still tries to do it :D

    Love the pics GISI :A

Log in and see if you have an option to register on the left hand side. If not then register for next time, put a tick in the contacts page for special offers by email. :D
