Hey ladies thankyou so much for all of you that offered reassurance, I don't think I'll stop feeling guilty but I do feel somewhat better and was good that I could read your comments to OH too.
Can't believe people don't like books for babies! T loves looking at pictures if nothing else at the mo we have only looked at her touchy feely board book but she already has book shelves as I've been buying her books since she was a lil bump. We even have two sets of book ends for when her collection expands.
Meant to say that I gave T a piece of my banana to suck on yesterday and altho a bit messy she seemed to like it. I'm not planning on starting weening yet but figured seeing as she was watching me intently it wouldn't hurt lol. On that note I picked up some boots bargain baby food bits today after boogie mites.
T seems to have settled back to her old routine now the weather is cooler, so fingers crossed for another good night

I don't think Alice has appreciated the scale of our world map yet. Today she wanted to go and "have a quick look at Germany".
Tell her it's so hot here that the frowns are melting right off everyone's faces and who knows what horrors might ensue? I had a runin with an old lady yesterday, she started haranguing me in the station. It was the first time I've ever been not-blindsided enough to respond in German, and I was ungrammatical but rude.

Talking about babies that throw themselves head first off sofas... Caitlyn did it just a couple of weeks ago and ended up with a lovely bruise right in the middle of her forehead... And then the photographer turned up at toddler group and took some lovely photos... I ordered 2 of them... Collected them today... And wouldn't you know, the bruise is huge and blue in the middle of her head!! I assumed they'd airbrush it!!!
Although my friends that saw it said it was just Caitlyn to a T... All rough and tumble...

Hi Som (and Mr Som ). Bananas are good - Izzy would eat nothing but bananas and strawberries if she got the chance.
I got Izzy loads of board books by going round charity shops. We have a load of paper books to, but they are on a shelf out of her reach at the moment. I put them all up there when she was ripping paper. Would probably be ok to get them down now, but she does find the board books easy to turn the pages. We are just about getting to the stage where she will sit and listen to a (short) book now, but mostly she just likes looking at the pictures/turning the pages.

can I ask for some advise re taking Thomas swimming please? We're taking him next week, he'll be 12 weeks old. I have swim nappies and a pair of trunks for him. Will he be ok in those or should I get a wetsuit instead? We'll probably be going to a special baby/toddler session.
My best friend had her baby today :j A little girl called Isabella, born at 14.16 today, weighing 6lb12oz. I'm so excited and pleased for her, been bouncing off the walls since I found out lol. Unfortunately I won't get to see her for a couple of weeks coz we're going on hols for a week on Sat.

I'm... around
Just not had much to say for myself.
In Rhys news, last Thursday morning, I dropped him off at Mum's (I was at work) and he managed to wriggle a few feet over to his toys, kind of commando shuffling style.. On Saturday, he improved to getting across the room and pulling himself up on the sofa so he was standing next to me.. Today, he's been on his hands and knees for longer, and been rocking a fair bit.. Then tonight, he's done more rocking, moved both knees forward, then pushed himself up on his hands and feet only, bum in the air. Then we gave him his brick truck, which he pulled himself up on and merrily walked the length of the room with it twice without us touching him once..
Last time the physio saw him, last Tuesday, he was just spinning round on his belly... Think she's in for a shock tomorrow!
:j
ETA: Apologies for the micro analysis of Rhys' crawling but it's been a bloody long time coming..

Evening all,
Happy birthday, hugs, hello all round.
Yeah for Christopher.
Katie had her introductory session at playgroup today - she loved it, especially when she found the paints and the easel and had sulks when it was time to go. I've got the days I asked for Monday and Wednesday all day and Friday mornings.
Gill - ring the pool and ask the pool temperature - it should be 30C+ for littlies. If it's less get him a wetsuit.
Go Rhys!!!!!!Proud to be dealing with my debts
