look i dont want to be like this atm iam a yo-yo in how much i can do but i have been in flare when i thought i had recovered went out then its just messed me up , iam always in pain my walking IS BAD ALL OF THE TIME!!!! and i intend to fight for what iam entialted to
i havent been out of the house in near two weeks iam just not strong enough physically despite me mentally wanting to do all the housework and go out clubbing etc which i cant even do 20 mins of houework sitting down!!!
Im well aware of HMS since I have it myself and both my children have it. I was diagnosed 30 years ago when it was a very rare condition* (Ashma is very common and you very rarely get DLA HRM for it so why bring it up?
My sister did get DLA for ashma before it killed her, thats how bad your ashma has to be to get DLA for it.
Fight all you want, you are not unable to walk or virtually unable to walk from your own words in previous posts that you made before you came across the age 25 cut off for funded driving lesson via mobility.
* I was diagnosed with HMS before the internet began and when everyone decided to jump on the band wagon of various conditions then they pester the medical profession to diagnose then with any in condition that theyve read about, in many cases just to get DLA, not directed at ash but the many blow ins that we get here eager to get DLA.0 -

my asthma can be bad at times and walking around even not far from my bedroom to the kitchen about 10-15 feet i can get out of breath, but why i mentioned it is while you think it means nothing it does when your struggling to walk as it is that has to be taken into concideration , atm iam in bed short of breath yet all iam doing is typing this happens often, but also concider my other issues at the same time0 -
We had someone tut tutting at us today at the hospital when we pulled into a space, goodness knows why but by sort of reading the lips, it was along the lines of my dad being too young to have a badge (he hadn't attempted to get out of the car at this point) and he is 70 this year!
Don't know what it is about many elderly people, When I had a blue badge for a young child the elderly would run across & say you're not disabled !! I would just smile & say your right I'm not,at this you'd think they'd explode! They would become v v rude to me but would rapidly go red when they watch me get a childs wheelchair out , carry the child out of the car & put into chair.I would just say sweetly shame on you the speed you managed to run over here do you really need a BB?
Now a wheelchair user myself I still have battles with that age group & I agree they do think BB's are just for them.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Oh....and do you honestly feel comfortable taking a disabled spot next to the door of a supermarket and leaving the people who have wheelchairs/ramps/paraphanalia to cart around looking for spaces big enough?Hi there,
I have some mental health problems and have been advised i might be able to get a blue badge because of anxieties and the bipolar/ocd.
but looking around mental problems dont "normally" qualify
Should I apply or not? i dont want to be done for fraud if I apply and i'm thought to be a 'faker', I just thought that if I had it then it would make life easier for going out :j
I already have the bus pass, cinema card, dla mid-rate care etc
all advice welcome!

Whether you are entitled or not (and its not your fault if you are) it really is a bit of a pee take....mental health does not stop anyone from walking 50 yards!!!!!0 -

what about a conbination of the two though, i have mental health issues myself and physical issues i have a letter stating that i have problems walking more than 50 meters but yet was declined now appealing this should be taken into concidaration also0 -
Why do you think they are on HRM???Right, that's why it's possible for those on HRM with severe mental impairment (SMI) to get a blue badge - despite the fact that they have no physical mobility problems.
As for staying in the car until a meltdown passes - how does one do that if they're in the middle of shopping and suddenly has a meltdown?0 -
The mental issues shouldnt come into it.....your application for a BB should be based on mobility only.what about a conbination of the two though, i have mental health issues myself and physical issues i have a letter stating that i have problems walking more than 50 meters but yet was declined now appealing this should be taken into concidaration also
50 meters means you dont need to park at the shop entrance doesnt it?0 -

i often find it hard to get out of a car without having the door wide open so i can twist my body around so i can support my own body weight to grap on the the handles without hurting myself more , not something you can do with cars often parked up next to you
also safety walking across the carpark i walk slow thought pain iam terible for twisting ankles, knees giving way my hips sublex also when i have a trolly full of shoping i have weak wrists so contoling it outside could cause probelms for other people in the car park if iam not closer
and i have mental health but dont get HRM but you can get it for this0 -
My brother has the same gentic condition as me, but won't get a blue badge. He said its pride that stops him, but I wish he would, as it would make his life so much easierMe transmitte sursum, caledoni0
