Didn't Blue Peter used to do competitions to see how far a balloon would travel?
Are you trying to tell me that Blue Peter slaughtered wildlife??
[May have been Record Breakers rather than Blue Peter, but definitely a BBC children's programme.]0 -

Now play nice!
Sorry, no can do. Once a balloon set free there is no control over where it ends up.
It has been known for years that littering the countryside is a no-no; it's bad enough they end up in landfill let alone strewn across the country or harming wildlife.

Yes, before they knew better......0 -
Save your money and buy more cakes for the fatties, also if you are getting married on 18th December, not really much chance of everyone standing outside, watching the balloons gently lift into the warm breeze, disappearing off into the wide blue yonder, more likely shrieks of "I'm not going out there, it took hours to do my bloody hair"0

Now I understand Sammy's new thread!
Really people I understand you have a point to make but fly was asking a valid question and being abusive really doesn't serve any purpose, and she's done nothing to deserve it!
It costs nothing to be polite and you have been unnecessary hurtful in the way you have replied (some of you seem to enjoy this).
Please, can we be pleasant to each other, this is after all supposed to be the happiest time in your lives!0 -

Aw, bless. So just because we can't have grown up conversation about the impact of weddings on wildlife; all the brides to be have to go crying to each other about the horrid girls on the other thread?
Jeez; get a grip!
ETA: perhaps if the 'here we go again' comment hadn't been made, then people wouldn't have retaliated.0 -

The here we go again comment was made by me. The user I was responding to has previous form of coming on here and generally just trying to cause an argument, and on more than one instance upset me or other users.
Maybe it was flippant and maybe uncalled for but I stand by it as I believe the poster was only trying to provoke a reaction. And when you say people wouldnt have retailiated, I was unaware that the poster had a 'crew' of people to come and back them up and fight their battles. Ive learnt that little lesson now :rotfl:
Anyway everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and we are all well aware of yours.
Back on topic, fly, have you asked the venue about the balloons?:heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:

I thinks it a nice idea, and again, if all the advise is followed than I don't see it as a problem. I love seeing balloons being lauched as it is such a pretty site. As mentioned earlier you can get bio-degradable ones..
Fly, you do what you want. Afterall it your day and most people on here don't see it as being a problem!
xxNow a married lady and loving it! Now..to clear that pesky mortgage! :beer:0
