releasing balloons in memory?

We can't do anything about it after the event - and it would be churlish of us to lecture anyone, but if I knew her or any of the people involved then I wouldn't have hesitated before the event to suggest an alternative.
By the way, you're stooping very low if you have to bring a murdered child into the equation.
That's not fair.
It was the most recent balloon release I could find information about, so if it was for or about someone else, I would have posted that instead.
My point is, if people are grieving, or the release is for a charity, for sick kids or old people, or people with a terminal illness, and they would get something out of having a balloon release, would the people berating the OP, tell these people what they thought, in exactly the same tone?
It's not that people don't have a point, of course they do, but it's not what they are saying, it's how they are saying it.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

I think you're all as bad as each other at the moment.
The thread has got to the point where the majority of posts are argumentative.
You all obviously disagree with one another so here's an idea... stop posting on this thread unless it's constructive or helpful to the original poster (suggesting alternatives to enviornmentally unfriendly balloons?).
If you want to bicker just PM each other.
And no I won't reply and be drawn into the argument.

No, there's nothing wrong with that comment.
Think that was the first comment made about it wasn't it?
It's the sarcastic comments after that one and the ones basically taking the mick out of the OP for even thinking about it.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

Fly - I think its lovely - check the venue though x
To be fair Shell ( and i am not being mean or anything lol) THIS was the first sarcastic comment.... :cool:Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?0 -
I think it sounds a lovely idea OP.
The symbolic gesture is always emotional - Me and mum released 2 white doves at my dads funeral last year as a gesture that we were both with him. We liked it, and to be honest, that was all that mattered at that particular time.
Do whatever feels good for you on your day. Youre paying a lot of money and investing a lot of time and effort into making your day as perfect for you as it can be so dont worry about what anyone else says. Releasing a few balloons isnt like youre dumping toxic waste!
