Need to help to workout if Morrisons is responsible for self service check out issue

Hi Guys
I recently went into Morrison's and use a self service checkout and got some cash back for £20. I was however in a rush and left the checkout without taking the cash back. I returned promptly shortly after I realised what happened and spoke to the staff about the problem.
I'm going to try and keep this story short. After much complaining about the lack of responsibility by Morrisons to protect customers since the CCTV footage (I was told this by a manager) didn't show that any money was left or taken, basically the initial fob off, I wrote to Head office and pursed the matter further.
I got a call back with a customer service rep initially saying the same thing the manager mentioned before about the cctv. I then requested to view the footage myself and not long after that the rep fessed up after excuses about camera time lag etc etc that the cctv not only confirmed everything I said but showed the customer after me taking the money. It showed him paying for his shopping than going back in to the store again. I assume this was to spend my cash back he found.
The rep then went on to say that since I left the cash at the checkout. I was still responsible and that Morrison won't refund me the cash but will send out the equivalent in vouchers.
I said that this isn't good enough and that wanted the cash back. After more wrangling to no avail. I left the conversation at 'okay send me the vouchers but i want an accompanying letter with a full explanation of the cctv footage and why morrisons isn't liable.
All I want is my cash back not vouchers. Surely Morrisons should give me my cash back and pursue the individual that they clearly have proof of taking the money.
Any thoughts and advice would be much appreciated. I do realise i left the money but if this was a manned till then I wouldn't be chasing the cash right now.

I am with Morrisons on this one, it is your own fault you left the cash, they are in no way responsible for monitoring your failings, they as a goodwill in view of your loss offered you vouchers to cover your mistake and you refuse it, to me that was a reasonable offer as you often shop there it would have meant your loss was covered, you cannot expect Morrisons or any other store to compensate foolishness.Approach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful! Wow that's extremely good of Morrisons to offer you vouchers tbh!0

You left the cash at the self-service checkout - why are you expecting Morrisons to accept responsibility for your own negligence? The cash became yours once the self-service checkout dispensed it. It is not Morrisons job to pursue the 3rd party that stole it from you. I would accept their offer and move on....."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I'm also with Morrisons on this one, it's no-ones fault but your own that you left the money therefore it's just lost. Put it down to experience.
I lost a tenner in Manchester on Saturday, I know I lost it in The Shambles between 2 or 3 bars, I don't expect to phone Manchester City Council and ask them to review the CCTV footage then try and track down who picked it up and if they can't I want a tenner back off them.
To be fair it's excellent that Morrisons have offered you the vouchers as most companies would have said "On yer bike you cheeky sod, it's your own fault"If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -

But it wasn't and it was your own negligence, unfortunately. I would accept the offer of vouchers with good grace and leave it there TBH.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I think you should take one of your Parents with you next time. You openly admit you cannot be held responsible for your own shortcomings.
or is this a one post wonder???0 -
Thanks guys for all your replies. I do put my hands up ....no need to be abusive (not to all of you
)
Even if i made the mistake. Questions need to be asked as supermarkets will roll out more of these checkouts in the future. One post wonder??? might be now lol
They had footage of a guy taking customer's money from one their checkouts. And that okay? Anyway will take my parents with me next time Chris.... great advice!0 -

There's no questions that need to be asked at all, unless it's 'Why can't people accept responsibility for their own mistakes'If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -
Alright I get the picture. Thanks guys.0
