What are the jsa rules about going on a 2weeks holiday??

if your wanting to go abroad you have to sign of jsa. the only way in which you would be able to keep your jsa is by staying in the country . regarding the housing benefits you would have to contact your nearest office and inform them and they will inform you wether you would still get the housing benefit
Ah ok thanks.
Il be signing on tomorrow lunchtime anyways,
so il ask them about it and findout how quickly it will take for me to sign back on after i return from the holiday.
I don't particularly like contacting the council though,
as whenever you mention anything to do with your benefits to them they seem to always ''axe and freeze your benefits instantly, but then take ages and ages looking into what info you have requested!'' :mad:0 -

According to google you only get the 4weeks extra housing benefit if you start a job for 5weeks or more, not just for signing-off.

Does anyone know if its an actual condition of claiming housing benefit to you being in the country non-stop like it is for jsa??0 -
U can take 2 weeks holiday in this country only and must be activley seeking work while ur on holiday and they could ring u at any time and offer u a job
Camping trips always a good one0 -
Everyone else has pretty much answered the question and I hate getting at people but I am completely shocked by your "Income for June"!!!!
Why do I bother working??0 -

Not a good one if you are actually abroad.
The JSA people are well able to data-match against the border control records of people entering and leaving the country."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

JSA(CB) can be claimed in certain circumstances if you go abroad to look for work. Here's a link:

Hi and thanks.
Ive used google though and found that i can keep claiming my housing benefit, discretionary housing benefit, and council tax benefit whilst im away on holiday,
as long as the holiday only lasts for maximum 3months.

But for jobseekers im going to have to sign-off, and then make a rapid-reclaim the day i get back,
and just miss out of the £134 for those 2weeks.
Its a pretty stupid idiotic rule though, as ive been begging to be given a job for over 12months now yet haven't been,
so im hardly likely to suddenly be lucky enough to get 1 in the next 12days! :mad:0 -
If ur going abroad u need to sign off unless for work interview or a emergency family crisis0
