Hi rachelet
Yes, I think most of the products have other language translations on them, I picked up an Anew eye cream just now, and it has about 6 languages on it.
I don't think the address would be a problem, as your husband lives there, obviously just renting a room. The only thing I would be concerned about is, your husband carrying the products across the sea. Not sure how this would affect customs. I would look into this first, as it may work out more costly for you.0 -
Does anyone else have problems with customers always being out when you need to deliver an order? I have been trying to deliver an order for just over £2 to a customer for three weeks! A couple of days into me trying her partner answered and asked me to come back later and then they were out. Today someone else finally answered the door and said she was asleep and to come back between 6-7pm. I have just been back at that time and her husband answered saying he had no money and she was out so could I come back. He said he was expecting her back soon, but I had nowhere to wait so I just gave him the items and said I would come back another time. I am actually considering not dropping the book, because I can’t keep spending all my time walking to her house and back again. I was wondering if anyone else had a system to get round this.M May11 55886.810

Thanks for the reply Aureol. He normally travels across by ferry or eurostar. The flights are far too expensive and completely the wrong times for us. I don't think he has ever been stopped when coming over on the ferry and he normally has loads of random items in his luggage from me doing online shopping in the UK. Will talk to him about it tonight as he may not want to get involved.DD1 born May 2002, DD2 born Dec 2005, DS born Dec 2008. Baby due May 2010! TEAM PINK!!

Hi everyone,
I'm Emma and became an Avon rep just a few weeks ago.
I
I'm not allowed to post my forum link here so please check my profile for the link if you are interested.
Thank you.
ummm Rosieroo.... I think it is great you have started up a forum for Avon Reps, and if anyone wants to join that is great.
But you could have asked before copying all the data from the first post to your forum. I know you have given credit to me, but unless people follow the link or join from this forum, they aren't going to know where it came from.
Sorry if it sounds harsh, but you could have made your own first post about Avon and everything to do with it.0 -

I let people know when I'm deliverying (they get a letter saying delivery x date between 6-8pm for example, and all my contact details if they need to rearrange), then if they aren't in, they get a note through asking them to contact me to rearrange, works a treat, means people will let me know in the first place as they know they have to contact me sooner or later lol.
Obviously harder when you get someone to speak to - but you could just say you really need to deliver it by x date else you'll have to send them back - if they haven't got the cash and you don't mind them knowing your address, ask if they'll pop to you, or if they'll leave the cash under a stone etc outside their house and you post the order through the letterbox (obviously only works if the orders small lol)...I have a few customers who if they aren't going to be in, they'll leave me the cash out and I leave the order outside for them though obviousy not everyone will be happy to do that. Just try (in a polite way!) to make it clear you can't keep coming back.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

yes, never thought about that one!Yes, just thinking that you may be ordering more than the usual number of items for personal usage but they would be gifts for family and friends.
See how it goes with hubby. Good luck.

Yes I agree A - its a great site - but mostly as its copied the info you kindly compiled - its hints & tips given by many different members over a long period of time, some from since before I joined on here, which was a while ago lol - Rosie - I'd politely suggest that you write your own guide in your own words, especially as A says there is no link to this website so no-one would know the background, time & work involved in the extensive list of tips that many many members have suggested over time that was kindly edited and compiled by A.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
I hadn't thought about him being stopped by customs for importing goods. Thats a good point. I don't want to get into trouble and if I did do it, I wouldn't order everything from UK, just some bits for friends as I want to order most from France as that way I am earning and in the healthcare system. Am just talking to hubby now. Fingers crossed!!:DDD1 born May 2002, DD2 born Dec 2005, DS born Dec 2008. Baby due May 2010! TEAM PINK!!

Right, have convinced hubby it is a good idea. He seems alright about it and is even going to give the brochures to his mum and sister to look at! I might even be able to convince him to take on some territory as well at a later date. So the next thing is to get him signed up. From reading on here, it seems to be best to go with an SL. What's the best way to find one of them, bearing in mind that I cannot look in shops or newspapers.DD1 born May 2002, DD2 born Dec 2005, DS born Dec 2008. Baby due May 2010! TEAM PINK!!
