see i kind of worked out a profit for tax credits but i cant even remebr what that was, how i got to it and if i even gave them the right amount.
now im worried on top of it effecting my carers allowance, ive also given tax credits the wrong amount and i'll get in trouble grrr.
it doesnt help that i had a lot of credits and recharges to the account .
its actually hurting my brain0 -
i think what i'll do as i know i havent earnt much anyway is...from the total sales, is use the 'your cost' coloumn of what the customers ordered add it up, take that away from total cost, whats left is my 'profit' take away brochures, bags and samples etc, but not take into account any demos or anything as i dont have any written forms to say thats what they are, they couldve been for personal use i cant remeber.
the bit im then stuck with is how to do the credits and reclaims! any ideas?0 -
hello i really really need some help please
how do you work out what youve earned? as if ive ordered stuff myself it will still count to the commission (IYSWIM) but i obviously wont get that commission. as i will get it at the discounted price.
i know i deduct brochure, bags and what not, but do i have to prove what ive ordered as free gifts etc and how would i?
oh and lastly what info do they need on the tax returns, how is it broken down on the form?
ok, hope this might help.
Deduct YOUR COST from AVON PRICE, then Deduct YOUR EXPENSES.
So Avon Price - £1005 - Your Cost - £782= £223 - Your expenses - £78 = £145 profit.
But make you sure you are allowing for ALL your expenses. Don't forget if you buy items to giftwrap your gifts to customers
If you've bought anything for yourself - make sure you exclude that from your figures - as obviously you won't have earnt anything from selling them, which is why you can't really rely on the earning figure that avon puts on the invoice.
You have to include items you have bought for yourself from book, although you would add as your cost price, not avon price,
items purchased from HT are all demosso classed as expenses
the Inland Revenue have told us when we attended their self assessment courses, that you can claim £2 a week for Gas and Electric, as we do work from home, prepping books, etc.
You can do a blanket self assessment, where you basically put in your total sales, total expenses. You don't have to do a breakdown of your expenses. The system will automatically work out what you should have paid for National Insurance and if you need to pay Class 4s. It will tell you what your profit is and if you owe tax.
At the end you can print a hard copy for yourself and save a soft copy. You can then use this as your profit and loss document.0 -
thank you thank you...that makes sense and thats what ive been trying to do but i think i over complicate things lol. ist teh credits and recharges taht also get me0

to be honest im so glad ive given it up not because i didnt enjoy it but more because the invoice side of it freaks me out, i really am not a number person. it confuses me then i over complicate it then i get it all wrong lol.
i think i'll stick to what im good at..keeping house, looking after the kids and baking the odd cake here and there lol0 -
Don't! I haven't even sorted out my paperwork, I have kept all my receipts for claiming for expenses but my actual paperwork from Avon is all over the place!
Doesn't help that DH is not working at the moment, he is under my feet when I am not working so am not able to sit and work out my tax returns. I too need them for Tax Credits at end of month! His are all done of course!
Lol! till last week all mine was too!! i spent 4 hours trawling through my lovely "filling" system of avon boxes!! I tend to just throw anything avon related into a box when tidying up and never sort through it. lol!! So i had invoices everywhere and in no order...!!! I did 3 additional orders at christmas and have been doing 2/3 additionals for most camps this year... plus loads of returns... so ive got invoices coming out of my earholes anyway not just the normal 18!! :rotfl:
im sat now photocopying xmas invoices so i can match which invoice matches which customer order forms so i can work out on each one what my profit was.
Im sure i read on the tax return you COULD include items for yourself in with customer orders if you bought them at brochure price?? Not your discounted rate?? I always do that put my own money in as a normal customer to make my "float" up.. now im wondering if thats wrong way to record it??! ARRRGH!
Oh the joys of self employment!:rotfl::rotfl:
(its also scary how LITTLE you earn once on paper... im only up to about 1k in 8 months so far!! thats £125 a month for my main household income!!! )0 -
Just checked my online invoice and the flipflops are out of stock! When will they finally sort this out, also pro to go lipsticks are now out of stock aswell! On the plus side I got all 4 of the bench wathces I ordered. Morning all. I am missing out camp 13 due to my and everyone else's holidays. I need to order some samples tonight. I wondered if anyone could let me know what perfumes will be on offer in camp 14, as I usually order whatever is on offer in the next available book, but won't receive my copies until next week.
Many thanks0 -
Im off to collect books from my new roads later on, already made mov but hoping to get hov to get the products from the smart start.:)0

Two of my customers have asked where their dressing gown is.... Have had a hard time trying to explain how the offer works and how they cannot have it for free just yet. I think the way it is written in the brochure is unclear and confusing!
I was hoping none of my customers would order this cos I soooo don't get itBrand spanking new Avon Rep C12 £440.39 :j C13 £321.25 :j C14 £174 so far0
